With 18+ years of experience across emergency medicine, ICU, internal medicine, academia, private practice, and community mental health, she brings a grounded, whole-person perspective to care. Pema works with individuals living with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Trained in integrative and functional psychiatry, she incorporates genetics, nutrition, and lifestyle factors when appropriate. Outside of work, she is a meditation practitioner, gardener, and nature enthusiast.
Pema works with individuals living with anxiety, depression, and trauma, who are ready to move beyond survival mode and build greater stability, self-compassion, and resilience. She often connects with caregivers, healthcare workers, and high-achievers experiencing burnout, anxiety, and depression. She views patients as the experts of their own lives and collaborates to create personalized treatment plans. Her approach is rooted in compassionate curiosity, honest feedback, and helping patients strengthen both insight and practical tools.
Initial visits focus on assessment, diagnosis, and understanding each patient’s goals. Ongoing care blends medication management with brief, evidence-informed interventions, including CBT-informed, somatic, and parts-based approaches. When aligned with patient goals, she integrates functional testing, nutrition, and lifestyle factors. Her aim is to help patients build self-awareness, resilience, and sustainable skills to navigate life with greater ease and agency.
