I am dual-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). My background in family practice and psychiatry helps me understand how emotional health, physical health, relationships, and life experiences are connected. I have cared for people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and substance use.

I understand that reaching out for mental health care can feel vulnerable. My goal is to create a warm, respectful space where you can speak openly and feel heard. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. We will work together to determine what feels realistic, meaningful, and helpful for your life. Medication can be an important tool, but it is not the only one. When appropriate, visits may include supportive therapy, coping skills, and exploration of sleep, stress, relationships, physical health, and routines.

Our first visit is an opportunity for me to hear your story, understand your concerns, and learn what you hope will change. We will explore your symptoms, history, physical health, medications, previous treatments, sleep, stressors, strengths, and what has or has not helped. From there, we will create a plan together. Follow-ups focus on progress, response to treatment, and adjusting the plan as your needs, goals, and circumstances change.

I’m a PMHNP who provides psychiatric care to adults 18 and older. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Michigan and am ANCC board certified. My clinical approach is informed by experience across acute care, long-term care, forensic psychiatry, outpatient care, and PHP settings. I take a comprehensive approach to assessment, focusing on factors contributing to symptoms rather than diagnostic labels alone.

I believe you are more than a diagnosis. I look beyond presenting symptoms to understand biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors, as well as your history, goals, values, and circumstances. When appropriate, I consider nutrition, psychotherapy, lifestyle, medication response, and pharmacogenetic testing to support individualized treatment.

I review current and previous medications, treatment responses, and relevant medical and psychiatric history while considering contributing biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. I then develop an individualized plan with you, balancing clinical recommendations with your preferences and goals, and monitor and adjust treatment as needed.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner across the lifespan. I have over 20 years of nursing experience, including labor and delivery and practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife, before transitioning into psychiatry. My clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, PMDD, and postpartum depression, with a holistic, integrative approach that treats the whole person—not just symptoms.

I offer evidence-based psychiatric care that treats each patient as a whole person, not a diagnosis. I enjoy working with patients managing mood, focus, or anxiety concerns, new mothers navigating postpartum shifts in mood, and those with long-standing mental health conditions. I understand that taking the first step toward care is hard, and I'm here to support patients through that process. Mental health struggles are nothing to be ashamed of.

My goal is to understand each patient's history, struggles, concerns, and goals to formulate a treatment plan unique to them. I prioritize supportive, open, and collaborative communication. Christina M. Barone, PMHNP, provides outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment with a focus on caring for the whole person, not solely their symptoms. She pursued psychiatry after recognizing the need for treatment that goes beyond a medication-focused approach. Her blend of psychiatric experience, trauma-informed insight and clinical perspective allows her to provide compassionate, empathic and effective care.

Judith Johnson is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with more than 30 years of healthcare experience serving patients in Arizona and Kansas. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Drake University and completed a post-master's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification at the University of Missouri–Columbia Sinclair School of Nursing. She treats adolescents, adults, and older adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, substance use concerns, and other mental health conditions.

Laurie provides evidence-based care for concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, trauma-related disorders, and other behavioral health conditions. Kellie Berry-Hert, PMHNP, earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Jackie LaVe' is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is also dually certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her master’s degree and post-master’s certificate from Vanderbilt University. Jackie has 12 years of experience as a nurse and over 7.5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Jackie is licensed to practice in Montana, Arizona and New York.

Jackie LaVe’ offers a patient centered approach, working with individuals aged 18-65. She believes in engaging patients in the decision-making process. Jackie has professional interests in treating a wide range of adult psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, panic, autism and bipolar disorder.

She provides psychiatric assessments and medication management along with brief supportive psychotherapy. She believes in educating patients, so they are empowered to work together to create treatment plans that improve their health and quality of life. Jackie has additional education and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and motivational enhancement. Pema Jessica Marcello is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). With 18+ years of experience across emergency medicine, ICU, internal medicine, academia, private practice, and community mental health, she brings a grounded, whole-person perspective to care. Diane Inda is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and telehealth settings. She is passionate about supporting patients in achieving their mental health goals while fostering trust, respect, and collaboration with a wide variety of care providers. Diane lives in Oregon with her husband, three cats, and four dogs, and enjoys writing fiction, photography, jewelry making, and martial arts.

Please note: Due to limitations placed by Minnesota law, controlled medications cannot be prescribed by telehealth only providers. This includes stimulant medications for ADHD. One option is to complete the assessment and then forward the medical records to one’s local primary care provider who can then do the actual prescribing. It is recommended to contact the primary care provider before an appointment with Talkiatry to ascertain if this plan is acceptable.

Melanie Nolan, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides compassionate, patient-centered care for adults. She offers psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy. She is dedicated to helping patients feel heard and supported throughout their care.

Debra Ort, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience across diverse mental health settings, including inpatient psychiatric facilities and outpatient clinics in private and group practices. She earned her Nursing degree from the University of Maine and her Master’s in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatry from Husson University. She is dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

Debra is passionate about treating all aspects of mental health and believes in a collaborative, holistic approach to care. She places each client at the center of treatment, ensuring they feel supported, respected, and actively involved in their care. Laura Hickman, PMHNP, earned her BSN from the University of Iowa and her MSN from Saint Louis University. During her graduate training, she completed multiple outpatient internships, including one focused on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, a modality she frequently incorporates into care. Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2014, she has practiced across Community Mental Health, inpatient psychiatry, crisis stabilization, TMS, and Suboxone treatment. She works with patients ages 5+ and specializes in ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

Laura’s priority is ensuring patients feel heard, valued, and respected. She fosters a collaborative, team-based environment where patients feel in control of their health. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, she emphasizes how someone is functioning in daily life. With warmth and “cheerleading” support, she helps patients feel less alone and more empowered to open up and pursue meaningful change.

Matthew Twomey, PMHNP, earned his BSN and MSN from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions School of Nursing. He began his career as an adult psychiatric nurse practitioner in community health centers before commissioning as an officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. After five years of active duty, he continued caring for service members and families at Fort Bliss as a civilian provider for nearly six years. He now practices in the private sector, bringing broad clinical experience to diverse patient populations.

Matthew is skilled in psychopharmacology, evidence-based practice, and telehealth delivery. He combines strong clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach to improve outcomes and streamline care. Patients can expect thoughtful collaboration, clear communication, and treatment planning grounded in the latest research and tailored to their individual goals.

He specializes in psychopharmacology and precise medication management tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Cecilia Wild is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a strong background in treating patients across the mental health spectrum. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois State University and began her career in a women’s residential facility specializing in mood disorders, eating disorders, and PTSD. She then transitioned to inpatient adolescent psychiatry, where she became a charge nurse and obtained her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Inspired by her passion for mental health, she pursued her master's degree at the University of St. Francis to become a PMHNP.

Jennifer Hewitt is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, credentialed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Gonzaga University and has extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Her passion for psychiatry and dedication to patient care are rooted in her background as an emergency room nurse and her experience in emergency medical services (EMS). This foundation has given her a unique perspective on the critical role mental health plays in overall well-being.

She has been providing telepsychiatry services since 2013 across several states, serving hospitals, community mental health centers, local jails, and residential treatment facilities. Farrah was the lead prescriber for Living Out Loud, a mental health program exclusively for LGBTQ+ persons. She has experience working with patients with comorbid mental health and HIV+ status, as well as a long history of supporting individuals with severe mental illness.

Farrah earned her Master’s in Nursing from Allen College and has mentored countless new Psychiatric Nurse Graduates in their first year of outpatient practice. Since Suzann has become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, she has worked in community health clinics providing both psychiatric medication management and medication-assisted treatment to patients.
