Biography
Christina M. Barone, PMHNP, provides outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment with a focus on caring for the whole person, not solely their symptoms. She pursued psychiatry after recognizing the need for treatment that goes beyond a medication-focused approach. Her blend of psychiatric experience, trauma-informed insight and clinical perspective allows her to provide compassionate, empathic and effective care.
Christina’s approach is direct, supportive and highly collaborative. Patients can expect a structured, respectful and safe experience that emphasizes understanding and cooperation with their treatment plan. She focuses on helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options and the purpose behind recommendations while respecting patient autonomy. She believes medication is not the sole basis of treatment and that thoughtful, individualized psychotherapy is an integral part of care.
Christina begins by taking time during the initial appointment to understand each patient’s history, symptoms and goals. She then collaborates with patients to create an individualized treatment plan that incorporates evidence-based practices with patient needs and expectations. Follow-up visits focus on progress, thoughtful adjustments and tailoring psychotherapy to each patient’s needs.
