Biography
Christy Thompson, PMHNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health care. She works with children and adults managing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, psychotic disorders, stress-related conditions, and life transitions. Christy is skilled in medication management, psychotherapy, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning. She also brings leadership experience as a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Chief Nurse.
Christy creates a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and respected. She values open communication and collaborative decision-making, while taking time to understand each patient’s emotional, physical, and lifestyle needs. Her approach is individualized, practical, and goal-oriented, with a focus on building resilience, improving daily functioning, and supporting lasting change.
Christy begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand each patient’s history, symptoms, concerns, and goals. She works collaboratively to create personalized treatment plans and provides thoughtful medication management with ongoing education and monitoring. Through follow-up visits, she assesses progress, addresses challenges, and adjusts care to support long-term wellness and improved quality of life.
