I am dual-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). My background in family practice and psychiatry helps me understand how emotional health, physical health, relationships, and life experiences are connected. I have cared for people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and substance use.

I understand that reaching out for mental health care can feel vulnerable. My goal is to create a warm, respectful space where you can speak openly and feel heard. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. We will work together to determine what feels realistic, meaningful, and helpful for your life. Medication can be an important tool, but it is not the only one. When appropriate, visits may include supportive therapy, coping skills, and exploration of sleep, stress, relationships, physical health, and routines.

Our first visit is an opportunity for me to hear your story, understand your concerns, and learn what you hope will change. We will explore your symptoms, history, physical health, medications, previous treatments, sleep, stressors, strengths, and what has or has not helped. From there, we will create a plan together. Follow-ups focus on progress, response to treatment, and adjusting the plan as your needs, goals, and circumstances change.

I earned my BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 2008 and my BSN from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010. I completed my nursing residency at The Menninger Clinic, where I later worked as a psychiatric RN for nine years before earning my MSN from UTHealth Houston. I have experience in inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and PHP settings, with a primary focus on medication management.

I believe the best care begins with open, honest communication and a strong therapeutic relationship. I want my patients to feel heard, respected, and involved in every treatment decision. Since you know yourself best, your goals and comfort level are essential in creating a plan that works for you and supports lasting progress.

I provide individualized, evidence-based medication management while incorporating supportive, trauma-informed psychotherapy, conflict resolution, crisis management, and talk therapy when appropriate. If more specialized therapy would better meet your needs, I'll help connect you with the right provider. I enjoy treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, postpartum depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD, and burnout.

Please note: Due to limitations placed by Minnesota law, controlled medications cannot be prescribed by telehealth only providers. This includes stimulant medications for ADHD. One option is to complete the assessment and then forward the medical records to one’s local primary care provider who can then do the actual prescribing.
