Biography
I am a doctorate-prepared, board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with outpatient experience in private practice and health-system settings. I earned my DNP and MSN from Columbia University, MPH from the University of New England, and have an undergraduate background in psychology from the University of Florida. I care for adults with mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, substance use/dual diagnosis, sleep disorders, and complex psychiatric conditions.
I believe psychiatric care should be collaborative, compassionate, practical, and goal-oriented. I value open communication, shared decision-making, honesty, and informed consent. I want to understand what may be affecting your quality of life and help you make informed choices about treatment, including benefits, possible side effects, and alternatives.
I begin with a thorough evaluation of your concerns, history, prior treatment, daily functioning, and goals. Together, we develop an individualized plan. When medication is appropriate, I discuss options with you rather than use a one-size-fits-all approach. At follow-ups, we review progress, tolerability, and goals and adjust treatment as your needs change.
