Biography
I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 13 years of nursing and advanced practice experience. I have provided outpatient telepsychiatric care for adults and bring a broad medical background in emergency/urgent care, cardiology, rehabilitation, and clinical leadership. I also completed Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) training through the IFS Institute.
I believe patients should be active participants in their care. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space for open, collaborative conversations. When considering medication, I thoughtfully weigh benefits, risks, side effects, and your preferences. I also seek to understand the whole person, including life experiences, relationships, physical health, stressors, and goals.
I begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your concerns, psychiatric and medical history, prior treatment, and goals. Together, we develop an individualized plan that may include medication, behavioral strategies, therapy recommendations, or other support. Follow-ups focus on progress, functioning, effectiveness, and side effects, with adjustments made collaboratively. I may also incorporate evidence-based screening tools and brief CBT, mindfulness, and IFS strategies.
