Alisa Zezetko, MD
I take great pride in forming meaningful connections with my patients and listening to their concerns. I rely on evidence-based treatments to guide pharmacotherapy decisions, and in addition to medication management, I incorporate supportive psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy techniques in my visits. When appropriate, I will refer patients for further psychotherapy and collaborate with therapists to provide more comprehensive care. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship that empowers patients to join in a collaborative discussion for optimizing their individual treatment plans and reaching their defined goals.
I completed my medical training at the University of Georgia/Augusta University Medical Partnership. While in medical school, I received a Master of Business Administration at the University of Georgia. I then moved to North Carolina to complete my psychiatric residency training at the Brody School of Medicine/ECU Health Medical Center. During my training, I gained extensive clinical experience working with adults and veterans in psychiatric inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. I also served as a chief resident of the psychiatry program and published several case studies.
I will conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and take time to understand each patient's individual concerns, mental health goals, and history.

After completing General Psychiatry residency training and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Nicklaus Children's Hospital, she gained experience across outpatient, inpatient, consultation-liaison, and emergency settings. Dr. Chowdhary treats adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health concerns, and is committed to culturally informed, patient-centered care.

She develops individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches, including medication management, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to support emotional well-being and daily functioning. She also considers lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and overall wellness, regularly reviewing progress and adjusting treatment plans collaboratively to support lasting improvement.

Amareen Dhaliwal, MD
I am an integrative psychiatrist with a warm, structured, and research-driven approach that combines medication when needed with integrative tools such as CBT, lifestyle changes, a "24-hour approach", and a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens. I treat depression, bipolar, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use, and psychotic-spectrum disorders with a holistic, results-driven approach. I work with individuals who feel stuck — functioning on the outside but "not like myself" inside — and focus on root causes to help them gain clarity, momentum, and purpose to function at their highest level across home, career, and life.
I begin with a 360-degree assessment exploring emotional patterns, routine, physical health, neurobiology, and values. My 24-hour optimization model supports intentional living, clarity, and structure. I fine-tune medications and augment with integrative tools to enhance mood, resilience, and wellbeing.
I hold an MPH and completed a 1-year fellowship through Psychiatry Redefined, as well as intensive inpatient and outpatient training. I am a Boston University School of Medicine graduate and former Chief Resident at FAU. My care is shaped by years in psychiatry and over a decade of coaching future physicians, researchers, and life coaches to reach their highest academic and career potential.

Anantharam Peesapati, MD
I am committed to providing comprehensive care to my patients, with a focus on medication management and psychoeducation, as well as supportive psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. My approach is guided by psychodynamic principles and steeped in mindfulness, ensuring a holistic and personalized treatment plan for each individual. My goal is to help every patient achieve their best mental health and well-being, which may include collaboration with a therapist while also considering the impact of lifestyle on their health.
I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist who graduated from General Psychiatry Residency training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. There, I honed my skills by treating a diverse patient population suffering from various diagnoses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use disorders. Prior to residency, I earned my medical degree from Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and my bachelor's degree in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Florida.

Ana Rodriguez, MD
My primary focus has been on treating adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and PTSD. I have an approachable, patient-centered style, combined with a passion for optimizing sleep as it pertains to management of a psychiatric illness and overall well-being. I offer supportive therapy as part of my medication management visits, and at times may also offer cognitive behavioral therapy to address underlying stressors which may be contributing to one's presenting ailments. I may also recommend including a therapist in your care team to optimize outcomes.
I am an adult psychiatrist fluent in Spanish and English. I obtained my medical degree at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestro in the Dominican Republic, completed my residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City via Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and then completed a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry in a combined Cornell University - Columbia University program with the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
I have worked with a wide array of patients across various medical settings, including extensive experience in Telehealth. My experience includes Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, in addition to outpatient experience in both clinics and correctional facilities. I have experience treating patients with psychiatric illness who may also be suffering from medical comorbidities, such as obesity, hypertension, pain, and diabetes. I have been deeply involved with teaching and emphasize psychoeducation while working in collaboration with my patients to help tailor their personalized treatment plan.

Anastasia Ruiz, MD
I am a psychiatrist specializing in adult and maternal mental health. I develop personalized treatment plans to address anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, PMDD, and perinatal conditions. My goal is to help patients reconnect with their values and live balanced, fulfilled, and meaningful lives. I combine pharmacotherapy (medication) with psychotherapy to create individualized treatment plans. Therapy provides powerful tools to manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that support balanced brain chemistry, and research shows that medication helps restore this balance more quickly and effectively, especially in moderate to severe cases.
I liken medication for the brain to fertilizer for a garden. Imagine your mental health as a vibrant garden: when well-nourished, it can thrive with resilience, beauty, and balance. But when symptoms like depression, anxiety, ADHD, or mood instability take hold, they act like invasive weeds, crowding out healthy growth and making it hard to enjoy the space. Medication acts like fertilizer, strengthening the garden's natural systems so the healthy parts can reclaim their place and flourish. Just as some gardens need only seasonal care while others require more consistent tending, medication plans are personalized to support each person's long-term mental wellness. My approach emphasizes diagnostic clarity, medication management, patient education, and brief psychotherapy based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe patients should take an active role in understanding their diagnosis and treatment.
Your first appointment is a supportive, in-depth conversation to share your story, challenges, and goals. I will review your medical and psychiatric history and assess symptoms using a whole-person approach that considers biological, psychological, and social factors. Together, we will develop a personalized plan that may include lab work, medication, and therapy. Initial visits last 60 minutes for thorough evaluation; follow-ups typically last 20–30 minutes, focusing on medication management and brief therapy. If needed, I can refer you to in-house or community therapists for add-on therapy support. Throughout your care, I prioritize shared decision making to ensure you feel informed, empowered, and supported.
My passion for medicine began in childhood, inspired by curiosity about the mind and body. I earned an Honors Chemistry degree with magna cum laude and completed my medical training and psychiatry residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. With a strong scientific foundation, I understand the role of medications and embrace holistic healing through connection, gratitude, and spirituality. I have experience in diverse clinical settings and have received national awards including the AWP International Fellowship and ADMSEP Innovations Award. I am dedicated to advancing maternal mental health screening and treatment through clinical care and education.

Anisha Gulati, MD
My practice centers around treating the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit. I believe the judicious use of psychiatric medications, coupled with psychotherapy and alternative treatments such as meditation and yoga, can bring about transformative changes in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions and life issues. In addition to general adult psychiatry, I received extensive training in one of the nation's largest women's mood disorder programs at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and enjoy treating peripartum and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I graduated with Honors in Psychology from The University of Florida, received my medical degree from The University of South Alabama School of Medicine, completed a clinical postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed my Psychiatry residency training at The University of North Carolina. I am currently obtaining my MBA. After residency, I worked as a psychiatric hospitalist at Trident Medical Center in Charleston and have also worked in private practice. Most recently I served as Chief Medical Officer for an 80-bed psychiatric hospital, Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital in Stuart, FL. I have worked in inpatient units, private practice, and community mental health, as well as served as Chief Medical Officer of a large psychiatric hospital. In 2018 I was awarded the Charleston Choice Award for Best Psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina. I currently reside in South Florida.

Anthony Capozzi, MD
My approach is to get to know my patients well in order to provide more comprehensive care. I prefer Cognitive Behavioral therapy or Rational Emotive therapy, which I feel is the most time effective and enduring therapy to help patients' needs. I enjoy working with patients who have anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD, and I am particularly interested in treatment-resistant Depression and Anxiety Disorders. Patients working with me know that I realize they have been suffering with their symptoms for some time, or they would not be seeking help, and I will work with each patient in collaboration to help receive the proper care. The typical process is to first spend time gathering a history of the symptoms, then include significant medical history which may be primary or secondary contributing factors, and also examine the psychosocial profile and how that may contribute to the initiation of symptoms and prevention of improvement. It is essential to form a differential diagnosis and continue to look at any ongoing issues as well as co-morbidities. I believe it is most important to discuss possible treatment modalities and take into consideration the patient's participation in ongoing care, staying up to date on the latest modalities and using a combination of medication, nutritional supplements, and behavioral therapies that can foster lasting improvement. It is very gratifying watching patients blossom and overcome their psychiatric disorder and then function at their best in work, leisure pursuits, and relationships.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Association of Psychiatric Medicine. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I received my MD from New York University after completing a 5th pathway at Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens, New York. I began my experience seeing patients with treatment refractory major psychiatric illnesses at Rockland Psychiatric Center in Rockland County, New York, where I also served on the psychopharmacology committee. I then practiced outpatient psychiatry at Rockland County Community Mental Health and Westchester County Mental Health for over 20 years, in addition to maintaining a private practice, and held the position of Associate Director of the division in Westchester County for over 18 years. That work exposed me to all levels of psychiatric care, including patients in the community, patients with limited income, and dual diagnoses including substance abuse. I also have extensive experience working with patients with developmental disabilities, as this is an underserved need.
I then went on to work in Florida for Florida Health Care Plans, an HMO, and in private practice for the past 13 years. I worked at the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach, helped establish the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Port Orange, Florida as part of a multidisciplinary practice, and established Advanced TMS in Port Orange, Florida. I subsequently practiced Interventional Psychiatry with Greenbrook TMS in the greater Orlando area. I am certified in TMS for brain mapping with Neurostar and Cloud TMS and have experience in the use of intranasal ketamine for treatment-resistant depression. I have been a member of the Neuroscience Education Institute since 2012, where I hold a certificate as a Master Psychopharmacologist, and I am a member of the Clinical TMS Society. I am also certified in Medical Marijuana and have completed the IV Ketamine Infusion therapy course as well as Botox training certification. I hold active medical licenses in Florida, Arizona, and New York.

Online Psychiatry for Tampa Residents
You get matched with a psychiatrist licensed in Florida, then meet by video from home. Because your psychiatrist is licensed in Florida, you can be seen wherever you are in Tampa, not only where a local office happens to be.
Your first appointment lasts 60 minutes, giving you time to talk through your symptoms, ask questions, and start building a treatment plan together. Follow-up visits usually run about 30 minutes, so you can check in, review how you feel, and adjust the plan as needed. Online psychiatry means you set up visits around work, school, or caregiving instead of around a commute.
What a Psychiatrist Can Help With
Talkiatry psychiatrists treat a wide range of conditions and take time to understand what you are dealing with before recommending anything. Common reasons Tampa residents reach out include:
- Anxiety, including constant worry, panic, and anxiety that gets in the way of daily life
- Depression, including low mood, loss of interest, and trouble functioning
- ADHD, including trouble focusing, restlessness, and follow-through that feels out of reach
Psychiatrists are medical doctors, so they can prescribe and manage medication when it fits your situation. Medication is one possible part of a plan, not the automatic result of a visit. Depending on your needs and availability, therapy may also be part of your care. Your psychiatrist listens, evaluates, and personalizes the plan to you.
Does Insurance Cover a Psychiatrist in Tampa?
Talkiatry is in-network with major insurers, and your coverage is verified during the free assessment before you schedule a visit. That way you know where you stand before your first appointment. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your specific plan, so it helps to confirm the details with your insurance company.
Mental Health Care in Tampa
Finding local psychiatric care in Florida can take longer than it should. Florida has 239 designated mental health professional shortage areas covering about 9.87 million people, and only about 24.9% of the need for psychiatric care is being met (according to KFF as of 12/31/25). For you, that gap often shows up as long waits and few nearby openings. Online psychiatry helps by connecting you with a licensed psychiatrist across Florida, rather than limiting your options to the providers in your immediate area.
