He earned his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Ella Popova earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and a master’s degree in bioethics through a dual-degree program at Kansas City University. She completed her psychiatry residency at Woodmont/JFK North Hospitals and has experience working in outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program settings.

Dr. Popova values building a positive therapeutic alliance and takes a collaborative approach to treatment planning. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable being open and sharing the broader context of any concerns they wish to discuss.

Riley Sapora, MD received his medical degree from the University of Queensland - Ochsner Clinical School, a joint program based in Brisbane, Australia and New Orleans, LA. He completed Adult Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training at Louisiana State University (LSU). He has experience treating children and adults across inpatient and outpatient settings, with training in medications, interventional options such as Ketamine, and psychotherapies including psychodynamic therapy and CBT. He also treats Gut Brain Axis disorders and believes in the mind-body connection, with meditation and a morning jog among his favorite ways to start the day.

Dr. Elena Volfson is a double board-certified psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from St. Petersburg Pavlov Medical University, completed advanced training in the U.S., and has held leadership, teaching, and clinical roles at nationally recognized institutions. She has also been honored as a Top Doctor and named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

I was the medical director of the Consultation Liaison Service at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and an assistant professor at UMass Medical School.

I have published and presented widely on topics related to Wellness in Psychiatry, Ethics, and Sleep Medicine. I am an advocate for finding your voice in medical decision-making. As part of my own life path, I became an Interfaith Minister and enjoy including spirituality and the supportive role it can play in healing for my patients. I have also helped train physician assistants at Valparaiso University, helping expand the knowledge of future providers.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, developmental disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and family relational problems for both children and adults. I believe that "knowledge is power" and that the more a person can understand about how the brain is affected by various mental health conditions, the more treatment makes sense. Working with survivors of trauma has always been an important part of my practice.

I received my medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, completed my adult training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and completed my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center/Riverview Hospital for Children Program. I am board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and have over 32 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist.

A native Texan, I returned to Tyler, TX in 2020 to accept the position of Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, where I also established an accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. Prior to that, I served as the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where I was also the Program Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. I also served as the program director of the Eating Disorders and Trauma Recovery program at Menninger Clinic in Topeka.

I currently serve as the co-chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's Committee on Child Maltreatment and Violence and as a representative for the National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse.

Throughout my career, I have served as the Medical Director of two Community Mental Health Centers and as the Corporate Medical Director for a company providing neuropsychiatric and general psychiatric care to patients residing in nursing facilities. I have also been a preceptor for numerous universities and have trained advanced practice providers in psychiatry.

I provide medication management along with supportive therapy. In some cases I may refer you to a counselor or therapist for further care and collaboration. I have experience treating a wide range of conditions, including major depressive disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD. I am an experienced Psychiatrist who spent the last 24 years of my career working in Veterans Affairs, where I was able to treat a wide variety of patients. I was trained in the VA system associated with Chicago Medical School (Finch University), located in North Chicago, Illinois. At the conclusion of my training, I was hired at the VA in Danville, Illinois until 2021. I also had a part-time private practice, which enhanced my experience in adult psychiatry. I graduated from a prestigious medical school that has consistently held a high position (4th) among the top 100 medical schools in the world.

Dr. Georgia Gaveras holds the position of Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Talkiatry. She is triple board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine. She has been practicing for over 18 years. Dr. Gaveras's practice focuses on medication management. Typically, she offers this in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, occasionally Dr. Gaveras may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome. She received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, before moving back to NY to complete her residency at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. After completing training, she remained and worked with dually-diagnosed adolescents at the Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Education Service (CARES) before becoming the Director of Training and Education for the Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals. She was then the associate director of child and adolescent emergency psychiatry at Cohen Children's Medical Center before becoming the Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Gaveras has held academic appointments at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Zucker School of Medicine, and SUNY Downstate Medical College. In addition, she has appeared in numerous professional publications and authored several research papers. In addition to general, child, and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Gaveras is also board-certified in addiction medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service (EDCAS) program at the William Alanson White Institute. She completed her undergraduate studies at New York University. While having treated a wide variety of patients, her primary clinical focus has been in treating adolescents and young adults with co-occurring substance use disorders.
