I am a board-certified psychiatrist who received my medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed my psychiatric residency at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. Since graduating from medical school, I served in the United States Air Force for over a decade, first as a Flight Surgeon and later as the Medical Director for mental health and substance abuse clinics overseas. In these roles, I provided medical support to Air Force personnel, their family members, and veterans. These invaluable experiences in high-pressure environments strengthened my desire to support the psychological challenges of individuals in a myriad of situations.

Outside of patient care, I remain active in continuing education, ensuring the latest scientific advancements inform my practice. With a background grounded in medical excellence, military service, and clinical psychiatry, I bring a steady, knowledgeable, and compassionate presence to the healing process.

I believe in a mind-body interconnection, and strive to address both aspects to provide truly holistic care. I am passionate about treating ADHD, and utilize medications plus skill building in my sessions to help my patients maximize their potential. My extensive experience also includes treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and OCD. I work in partnership with patients to find a treatment plan that will be effective, while also being sensitive to financial or insurance coverage factors that may impact care.

I am a double board certified psychiatrist in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Following completion of my training, I spent the next 10 years fulfilling my passion for indigent care of children, working in a community mental health center. I went on to complete additional training in Functional Medicine, with the goal of offering patients greater insight into the physical factors contributing to their symptoms. I have also trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and encourage mindfulness as a healing technique along with medication management. Over the following 10 years, I treated a broad range of patients in a private practice setting, including children and adults.

My practice philosophy is to collaborate with patients to meet their specific needs and make an impact in various stages of their lives. I focus on medication management, which I typically offer in conjunction with supportive or emotionally focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. I have experience providing compassionate psychiatric care for patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, family and relationship issues, as well as other mental health issues. I strive to make my patients feel heard, validated, and comfortable at all times.

Dr. Satveet Khela is a board certified physician specializing in adult psychiatry. She has been practicing since 2021. In addition to focusing on medication management, Dr. Khela's practice also prioritizes a whole person approach, incorporating aspects of nutrition, lifestyle, mindfulness, and supportive or brief cognitive behavioral therapy into the treatment plan. Occasionally, Dr. Khela may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you see a separate therapist to provide the best outcome. Dr. Khela received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree from A.T. Still University. She completed her residency at University of California San Francisco Fresno, where she served as chief resident in her final year. After completing her training, Dr. Khela worked with medically ill patients with co-morbid psychiatric illnesses. Throughout her career, Dr. Khela has worked with a diverse set of patients in various stages of their lives. Dr. Khela focuses on treating patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, OCD, and other mental health issues. She believes in empowering her patients to be active players in their treatment plans to facilitate the best care possible.

I enjoy working with patients going through life transitions such as high school to college and college to adult life. I believe it is important to understand the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) when treating them. I treat people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and ADHD, as well as trouble with relationships and family conflict. I provide both medication management and therapy, and I believe that medication is just one of the items in a psychiatrist's toolbox and that therapy is equally important as medication.

I graduated medical school from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and completed my residency and child/adolescent fellowship trainings at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Center in Denver, CO. Previously, I worked on the inpatient and partial hospitalization child/adolescent psychiatric units at Children's Hospital Colorado, as well as in the school-based health clinics through Denver Health in partnership with Denver Public Schools. I have also worked in community mental health at the Mental Health Cooperative clinics throughout the Middle Tennessee region, and most recently joined a private practice before joining Talkiatry. I have been named to Nashville Lifestyles Magazine's Top Doctors list in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I am a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

I am a board-certified physician in both adult and child & adolescent psychiatry, with a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and ADHD. I take a holistic approach to treatment, incorporating both medication management and psychotherapy. I utilize principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and supportive psychotherapy, recognizing that a combined approach leads to better outcomes for patients.

I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I then pursued my medical education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, earning my Doctor of Medicine degree. I completed a three-year psychiatric residency at TTUHSC, followed by fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry. I completed my first year of fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and my second year at TTUHSC.

With a diverse clinical background, I have gained experience in a variety of settings, including academic psychiatry, consult liaison psychiatry, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP), emergency psychiatry, and outpatient psychiatry. This broad range of experience allows me to provide comprehensive, individualized care to patients at all stages of life.

My practice focuses on a duality of treatment strategies: specifically psychotropic medication management in conjunction with non-pharmacologic treatment modalities including supportive psychotherapy, emotive supportive psychotherapy, and personalized variants of psychodynamic/interpersonal psychotherapy. For my outpatient practice, I focus on mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, personality disorders, and family dynamics. I also have experience facilitating the coordination of psychosocial treatments in underserved populations.

I was born and raised in a neighborhood in the North Bronx. I attended Queens College, CUNY, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Hebrew. I completed medical school at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY, and thereafter was accepted to NUMC for psychiatry residency training. For my final year of residency, I was appointed to the position of Chief Resident for Academics & Research for the Psychiatry residency program at NUMC, Nassau University Medical Center. I received two awards during my residency training: the Acute Mental Health Services Award and the Ambulatory Mental Health Services Award at the end of my 2nd and 3rd years of residency training, respectively. At NUMC, I underwent rigorous training in a multitude of psychiatric settings and have experience managing a wide array of psychiatric areas of treatment, including mood/bipolar disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, as well as the intersection of medical disorders and psychiatric disorders.

I primarily offer medication management in conjunction with supportive therapy during follow-up visits. I value the importance of open communication and a strong doctor-patient therapeutic alliance. I earned my medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed Psychiatry Residency and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. I have practiced in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings and have subspecialty training in Addiction Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I am also a Gestalt Professional Certified Coach through the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.

Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

I am trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating various psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and bipolar disorder, with a focus on posttraumatic stress disorder, women's mental health, and cultural psychiatry. I combine my clinical expertise with a passion for working with underserved populations and the LGBTQIA+ population to address mental health needs across various communities.

I am a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including as an outpatient psychiatrist at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) and as a correctional psychiatrist at the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in Reno, NV. In addition to my clinical work, I have participated in research and education and have co-authored peer-reviewed articles in the fields of psychiatry and biology.

I have additional interests in trauma work; women's mental health, specifically in the peripartum period; and in working with individuals facing progressive diseases or terminal diagnoses.

I am a recent graduate of the psychiatry residency program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. During my residency, I sought out additional training in psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. I participated in the Psych Scholars track, which provided in-depth education and supervision around therapy and psychoanalytic theory. I completed my residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, followed by a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. My years of experience started as a medical officer for the Army, including a deployment to Iraq. My working experience after my military service includes working as a medical director of a community health center, a medical director of a community hospital, a medical director of an inpatient unit, and working for an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) specializing in the Serious Mentally Ill population.
