I received my undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed my medical degree at Oakland University William Beaumont in Rochester, MI. I am a graduate of the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI, and I have also completed a psychotherapy fellowship through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

Due to the diversity and richness of culture in southeast Michigan, I have experience working with patients from varied backgrounds. I enjoy the challenge such a heterogeneous environment brings and am particularly fond of working with young adults experiencing life transitions. I also have experience working with patients from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as adolescents and geriatric populations.

My years of experience include working as an inpatient psychiatrist, in an intensive outpatient program, and in consultation and liaison. I have also helped train physician assistants at Valparaiso University, helping expand the knowledge of future providers.

Following my fellowship, I worked at Kaiser Permanente in clinical roles of outpatient, geriatric, and C/L.

My particular clinical focus is on the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and behavioral addictions, as well as trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders. I received my medical education at the University of Washington in Seattle after completing undergraduate studies in psychology and later a post-baccalaureate at Boston University. After residency at the University of Chicago, where I specialized in addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy, I completed an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I am an adult psychiatrist with a clinical approach emphasizing the intersection of medication-based treatment and talk therapy. During my training, I gained experience across a wide range of mental health settings, including community mental health centers and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and worked at various levels of care, from inpatient units to partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, as well as outpatient clinics. After leaving the community clinic setting, I began working for an outpatient clinic in a suburb of Philadelphia.
