I have over a decade of experience in both community mental health centers and private practice, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

I earned my medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and completed general psychiatry residency and an addiction psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. I also hold undergraduate and master's degrees in biomedical engineering. I have experience in telepsychiatry, inpatient, outpatient, and interventional psychiatry settings, with expertise in treating mood, anxiety, trauma-related, attention, and substance use disorders, as well as women's behavioral health and veteran populations.

I am the first member of my family to become a physician. My passion for mental health and my desire to help others are what paved the way for me to become a well-trained and highly motivated psychiatrist.

I work with patients to create an environment where they feel comfortable and supported. I focus on medication management along with supportive therapy. Normally visits are 30-minute follow-ups that allow time to focus on areas of support needed. If additional therapy is recommended, I will request a therapist be added to your care team to meet all your needs. I attended Yale University, where I studied philosophy in the Great Books Program, and later studied Molecular Biology at the University of Colorado, where my husband and I moved after getting married. I received my medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Program and completed my residency at Dartmouth Medical School. I also trained at Massachusetts General Hospital with Dr. Theodore Stern in his area of expertise (Consult Psychiatry) and learned from his immense skill at building strong rapport with all patients. I have experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, along with teaching and research. I have also worked in hospital administration and government entities, most importantly the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.
