Christopher Zeoli, DNP, PMHNP, is a nationally board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of certification and more than 30 years of experience in the psychiatric and mental health field. He earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Stony Brook University and has worked with patients across the lifespan in clinics, outpatient programs, hospitals, and private practices.

Christopher’s approach combines thoughtful medication management with supportive therapy. Jessica Healey, MD

Dr. Jessica Healey is a board-certified adult psychiatrist. She obtained her medical degree from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and completed her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital. During her training, Dr. Healey gained extensive experience providing psychiatric care to various patient populations in multiple patient care settings, including in the outpatient clinic, inpatient unit, and emergency department. Following her training, Dr. Healey worked as an outpatient psychiatrist for the Veterans Health Administration. During her tenure with the VA, she worked closely with staff psychologists, social workers and nurses to provide multidisciplinary, collaborative care to the veteran population suffering from a variety of mental health conditions.

Dr. Healey has experience and interest in treating adults suffering from trauma-related disorders and anxiety disorders but provides treatment for a variety of psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Dr. Healey focuses on medication management and supportive psychotherapy, but has training in utilizing various therapy modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. When appropriate, Dr. Healey will refer for more extensive psychotherapy and/or collaborate with your established psychotherapist for comprehensive care.

Bethanie Berson, NP

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Bethanie is a board-certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing credentials and a Master’s in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. She has been in practice for over 10 years, providing care to individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Bethanie also has a strong passion for supporting women’s mental health during the perinatal phase of life.

She believes in a collaborative partnership with her clients, working together to develop a mutually agreed-upon plan of action that maximizes the chances of success.

Rebecca Crosbie, MD

Dr. Rebecca Crosbie is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and has been practicing in outpatient psychiatry for nearly 7 years. Her practice focuses on medication management, and she typically offers medication management combined with supportive therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in 30 minute follow-up visits. If Dr. Crosbie feels you would benefit from working with a dedicated talk therapist, she may encourage you to pursue this or refer you in order to achieve the best outcome. Dr. Crosbie is a graduate of Michigan State College of Human Medicine. She completed her psychiatry residency at Pine Rest/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, MI. She has previously worked as an outpatient psychiatrist and in tele-psychiatry. She has a lot of experience treating patients with a broad array of mental health conditions, including: anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. She also treats combined mental health diagnoses such as ADHD plus another diagnosis. She also has a lot of experience working with patients who identify as LGBTQI+. Her approach is always to meet the patient where they are and educate and enable patients to make good choices about treatment that are in line with their personal preferences and values.

Alexandra Dodd, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Dodd, a Board-Certified psychiatrist, graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program with a B.S. in Chemistry, and earned her M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. During her psychiatry residency in Greenville, SC, she was chief resident and gained extensive experience through moonlighting. She joined the faculty of Gateway’s Savannah residency program in 2021, where she served as Assistant Program Director, and continues to teach residents and students as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia. In her community psychiatry practice, she specialized in Assertive Community Treatment, worked with First Episode Psychosis programs, a forensic Diversion-Reentry clinic, telehealth, and outpatient psychiatry, particularly serving graduate students, professionals, and their families in the Savannah area.

Dr. Dodd fosters a comfortable environment for patients at any stage of treatment. As a passionate educator, she enjoys providing psychoeducation and supportive therapy to help patients understand themselves, their relationships, and their motivations.

Dr. Dodd tailors treatment to each individual’s goals, preferences, and strengths. She uses her expertise in diagnosis and pharmacology to optimize care, monitor treatment success, and maintain progress, with the ultimate goal of helping patients feel and function at their best.

Absar Tahir, MD

Dr. Absar Tahir is an adult psychiatrist double-boarded in psychiatry and internal medicine who specializes in evidence-based, holistic, and individualized care. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees. Dr. Tahir completed sequential residency training in both internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Tahir integrates his knowledge of psychiatry and internal medicine to address the complex interplay between mental and physical health, ensuring a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to diagnosis and treatment. Throughout his career, he has helped patients from all walks of life, from diverse backgrounds, with a compassionate and empathetic treatment style. He strives to ensure his patients feel their voice is heard while working collaboratively towards achieving their treatment goals. Shilpika Varma, MD

Dr. Varma grew up in an immigrant family surrounded by aspiring doctors, and her passion for understanding the human mind and behavior blossomed early. This curiosity led her to pursue extensive medical training abroad, beginning at Kasturba Medical College in Southern India, followed by clerkships at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. She completed her Adult psychiatry residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville and specialized further with a child/adolescent fellowship at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Varma believes in a holistic, integrative approach to mental health. Her philosophy centers on identifying the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms.
