I enjoy working with patients going through life transitions such as high school to college and college to adult life. I believe it is important to understand the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) when treating them. I treat people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and ADHD, as well as trouble with relationships and family conflict. I provide both medication management and therapy, and I believe that medication is just one of the items in a psychiatrist's toolbox and that therapy is equally important as medication.

I am board certified in Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. I graduated medical school from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and completed my residency and child/adolescent fellowship trainings at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Center in Denver, CO. Previously, I worked on the inpatient and partial hospitalization child/adolescent psychiatric units at Children's Hospital Colorado, as well as in the school-based health clinics through Denver Health in partnership with Denver Public Schools. I have also worked in community mental health at the Mental Health Cooperative clinics throughout the Middle Tennessee region, and most recently joined a private practice before joining Talkiatry. I have been named to Nashville Lifestyles Magazine's Top Doctors list in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I am a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

I foster a comfortable environment for patients at any stage of treatment. As a passionate educator, I enjoy providing psychoeducation and supportive therapy to help patients understand themselves, their relationships, and their motivations. I tailor treatment to each individual's goals, preferences, and strengths, and I use my expertise in diagnosis and pharmacology to optimize care, monitor treatment success, and maintain progress, with the ultimate goal of helping patients feel and function at their best.

I am a Board-Certified psychiatrist. I graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program with a B.S. in Chemistry and earned my M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. During my psychiatry residency in Greenville, SC, I served as chief resident and gained extensive experience through moonlighting. I joined the faculty of Gateway's Savannah residency program in 2021, where I served as Assistant Program Director, and I continue to teach residents and students as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia. In my community psychiatry practice, I specialized in Assertive Community Treatment, worked with First Episode Psychosis programs, a forensic Diversion-Reentry clinic, telehealth, and outpatient psychiatry, particularly serving graduate students, professionals, and their families in the Savannah area.

I focus primarily on medication management, often accompanied by brief cognitive, motivational, or supportive therapy. I may request that you also meet with a therapist regularly for your benefit. I treat young adults and adults with a wide variety of mental health concerns, including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist joining Talkiatry directly out of residency. I received my medical degree and completed my general psychiatric residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in West Texas.

Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

My style is warm, curious, and collaborative. I emphasize understanding each individual in the context of their psychosocial development, life experiences, and cultural and societal stressors. I believe mental health cannot be separated from the challenges faced at school, work, within families, and in society at large. I listen carefully, ensuring patients and families feel understood, and work together to create practical, personalized treatment plans. I integrate psychopharmacology with therapy, coping strategies, and resilience-building, aiming for patients to feel supported, empowered, and actively engaged in care that evolves with their needs.

I am a dual board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where I also served as Chief Fellow, and my general psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Over the past year, I have provided telehealth psychiatric consultations across emergency rooms and inpatient settings, gaining extensive experience across state hospitals, outpatient clinics, college mental health, preschool, mood disorder, and community health clinics.

I am board certified in Adult Psychiatry. Patients looking for a psychiatric provider will find that I have a gentle and approachable style. I believe that each patient was created on purpose and for a purpose. The brain is deeply wired for resilience, and I am blessed to witness that while supporting it in my patients. I focus on medication management with supportive psychotherapy as I treat a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses.

My primary objectives are to help patients achieve success in both treatment and life goals and to always take time to truly listen. The primary focus of my sessions is to provide medication management with education on treatment options. I provide therapy models that are appropriate within that 20–30 minute medication session. If longer therapy time frames are indicated, I will discuss the need to add a therapist to the treatment team to achieve optimal care. My successful treatment outcomes are based on experience, staying current on psychiatric treatments, and having open communication with patients and families of children/adolescents so they can choose the most effective treatments.

I have 21 years of experience in treating adults, adolescents, and children. I graduated from Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina, then moved to Rochester, NY to complete my residency and fellowship at University of Rochester School of Medicine. My focus over the last ten years has been on working with young adults, children/adolescents, and their families. My expertise covers a wide array of therapeutic modalities and mental health diagnoses.

Prior to medical school, I worked in both marine and biochemical research venues and was coauthor on several research papers. I have an avid interest in the emerging field of neuroscience and frequently give talks to colleagues and students on current research topics.

My specialties include affective and anxiety disorders, and I have specific expertise in neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, and alternative treatments for affective disorders. I practice psychotherapy from an Eriksonian perspective and am well versed in individual and psychodynamic psychotherapies.

I most recently served as medical director for clinical services at Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. After several years of private practice, I served as Chief of Inpatient Psychiatric Services and then as Chief of Psychiatry at Mountain Home VA Medical Center. During my time at Mountain Home VA, I was also a Professor of Psychiatry at Quillen Medical School at East Tennessee State University, where I taught General Psychiatry courses and the Neurosciences of Psychiatry. I have an extensive psychiatric background in practice and as a teacher.

I am a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Past President of both the Tennessee Psychiatric Association and the Southern Psychiatric Association. I have been awarded a Distinguished Service Award from the United States Public Health Service. I have been twice named the Outstanding Teacher Award from the ETSU Psychiatry Residency program and was awarded Course Director of the Year for the Neurosciences residency course I developed. I also hold an Irma J. Bland Award for Excellence in Psychiatric Education from the APA.

Dr. Alicia Garcete is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist in practice for over 12 years. Her practice focuses on medication management, recognizing  family involvement is extremely important and is an integral part of treatment. Dr Garcete has treated a wide variety of patients. Her primary focus is treating depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD and OCD. Additionally, she can provide supportive therapy and elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy but on occasions more therapy support may be needed, and the recommendation to bring a psychotherapist on the care team may occur to provide an optimal outcome. Dr. Garcete is bilingual and provides care in both Spanish and English.

Prior to Talkiatry, Dr Garcete treated children, adolescents, and adults was at the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care with focus on behavioral approaches in the Depression recovery and Anxiety/OCD programs.

Dr. Garcete earned her Medical Degree from the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, Facultad de Ciencias Medicas in Paraguay. She completed her general psychiatrist residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. She was also a Fellow in Psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Institute, Affiliate to New York University School of Medicine, and completed her child and adolescent psychiatrist fellowship at Elmhurst Hospital Center, affiliate to Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Garcete also held a clinical assistant professor appointment from the department of psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

My practice focuses on medication management and also employs empathic listening, supportive psychotherapy techniques, and a comprehensive and methodological approach to visits. I have experience working with patients of all ages, particularly those with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Tic disorders, substance use disorders, and more. Given my broad and diverse training experiences, I enjoy problem solving and working collaboratively with patients (and their families) to navigate their complex issues and jointly focusing on simple solutions to work towards improving their mental health.

I am a board-certified Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. I completed my undergraduate education at Emory University and attended medical school at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I subsequently completed psychiatry residency at University of Miami/Jackson Health System and further sub-specialized there with a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have had the opportunity of working with a diverse array of patients including children, adolescents, the severely mentally ill, veterans, and cancer patients across three distinct hospital systems. My clinical experiences have spanned specialty inpatient psychiatry units, emergency psychiatry, consultation liaison psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and outpatient clinics via telemedicine and face to face interactions.

My primary focus has been on treating adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and PTSD. I have an approachable, patient-centered style, combined with a passion for optimizing sleep as it pertains to management of a psychiatric illness and overall well-being. I offer supportive therapy as part of my medication management visits, and at times may also offer cognitive behavioral therapy to address underlying stressors which may be contributing to one's presenting ailments. I may also recommend including a therapist in your care team to optimize outcomes.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist and am also fluent in Spanish. I completed residency at North Florida Regional in Gainesville via the University of Central Florida, where I also served as chief resident for education. I received my medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee. I also hold a master's and bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of South Florida, in Tampa.

I have worked with a wide array of patients across various medical settings and have experience treating patients with psychiatric illness who may also be suffering from medical comorbidities, such as obesity, hypertension, pain, and diabetes. I have been deeply involved with teaching and emphasize psychoeducation while working in collaboration with my patients to help tailor their personalized treatment plan.

I am especially passionate about helping people navigate stress, build self-esteem, and develop healthy relationships. I am a native of the Tennessee mountains. I completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis and a general psychiatry residency in San Antonio, Texas. I have worked in academic medical centers, public schools, state hospitals, a transgender health clinic, and a residential eating disorder center. I am experienced in caring for LGBTQIA+ individuals and underserved rural communities.

Sessions begin with a detailed review of each patient's history, current concerns, and goals. I then work together with the patient to create a personalized care plan that may include therapy techniques, medications, psychoeducation, or coping strategies. When treating children or teens, I often include family involvement or parent coaching to promote meaningful progress.

Edmund Clark, MD, serves as Chief Psychiatrist at Talkiatry with over 17 years of board-certified experience, including more than 5 years delivering tele-psychiatric care to underserved areas. His career spans 23 years in public service, including leadership roles as Chief of the VA Mental Health Clinics in Jacksonville, FL, and program manager for the University of Florida’s Psychiatry Residency Training Program. A former U.S. Navy psychiatrist, he deployed multiple times, including to Iraq in support of an Army Combat Stress Control clinic, gaining expertise in evidence-based PTSD treatments. Dr. Clark earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his psychiatry residency at the National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed, serving as chief resident for over 50 military trainees. Before medicine, he served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya.

Dr. Clark values a collaborative approach built on honesty, rapport, and ensuring patients feel heard. He helps patients identify and address multiple factors influencing their mental health, aiming for positive, lasting changes that improve function across life domains. He encourages evidence-based therapies and, when needed, involves other providers to support comprehensive care.

Dr. Clark uses measurement-based tools to assess medication efficacy and guide treatment decisions. He integrates supportive psychotherapy to strengthen coping skills and reduce negative thinking, while incorporating motivational interviewing techniques to promote recovery and self-improvement.

I take a biopsychosocial approach to mental health, with a focus on incorporating medication management and supportive therapy to improve my patients' quality of life. I am board certified in adult psychiatry and earned my medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, where I also completed my four-year residency in psychiatry. I have over 13 years of experience with an array of mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders.

I provide evidence-based medication management and psychotherapy to address mental health conditions. I am a strong advocate for patient autonomy, quality improvement, and psychoeducation.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist who completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. I received residency training at University of Texas Health - San Antonio, where in addition to clinical training I was appointed resident chair of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee. Since graduation, I have been a staff psychiatrist and the military unit director at Cumberland Hall Hospital, providing comprehensive care to child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

I am board-certified in general adult psychiatry. I earned my medical degree from the University of Benin in Nigeria and completed my psychiatry residency at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where I served as Chief Resident and received multiple honors. I previously served as Medical Director at Sumner Regional Hospital and Assistant Professor at Meharry Medical College.
