I received my medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV, before moving to southern California to complete my residency at Loma Linda University. After completing training, I began working with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Riverside, CA, where I treated a variety of psychiatric disorders in an outpatient setting. In March of 2020, as the pandemic changed life and medicine forever, I adopted a strictly telepsychiatry role at my clinic. I have also held a staff psychiatrist position as an adult inpatient psychiatrist in Tennessee. I treat a wide variety of psychiatric disorders within the adult demographic.

I am a native of the Tennessee mountains. I completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis and a general psychiatry residency in San Antonio, Texas. I have worked in academic medical centers, public schools, state hospitals, a transgender health clinic, and a residential eating disorder center. I am experienced in caring for LGBTQIA+ individuals and underserved rural communities.

Sessions begin with a detailed review of each patient's history, current concerns, and goals. I then work together with the patient to create a personalized care plan that may include therapy techniques, medications, psychoeducation, or coping strategies. When treating children or teens, I often include family involvement or parent coaching to promote meaningful progress.

Prior to joining Talkiatry, I held an academic appointment at UTHSC as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and served as the Clinical Director of the Memphis Mental Health Institute.

I hold the position of Staff Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. After finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I completed the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Master of Science program before enrolling in medical school at the same institution. I am a Board-Certified psychiatrist. I graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program with a B.S. in Chemistry and earned my M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. During my psychiatry residency in Greenville, SC, I served as chief resident and gained extensive experience through moonlighting. I joined the faculty of Gateway's Savannah residency program in 2021, where I served as Assistant Program Director, and I continue to teach residents and students as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia. In my community psychiatry practice, I specialized in Assertive Community Treatment, worked with First Episode Psychosis programs, a forensic Diversion-Reentry clinic, telehealth, and outpatient psychiatry, particularly serving graduate students, professionals, and their families in the Savannah area.

I specialize in both psychiatric medication management and various forms of psychotherapy. I believe that effective psychiatric treatment requires attention to multiple domains, including the establishment of a strong doctor/patient relationship, the development of a sound understanding of who the patient is as an individual, and a comprehensive assessment of spiritual and biological factors contributing to mental health. As such, my practice includes both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions that aim to treat the whole person on an individualized basis. I am a graduate of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center General Psychiatry residency and the Duke University Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship programs, and I am board certified in Psychiatry by the ABPN. I received the 2023 Distinguished House Staff Award from the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council, which is awarded to one graduating house staff member from each department annually for excellence during training. I have conducted research on depression and PTSD, published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented posters at conferences, and written a chapter for a book on medical education. I am a dual board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

I specialize in psychiatric care and addiction medicine, offering treatment for a range of mental health and substance use disorders. I take a comprehensive and structured approach, integrating medication management with individualized treatment planning. My background in military psychiatry allows me to provide specialized care for veterans and active-duty service members, particularly those experiencing PTSD, substance use issues, and other psychiatric conditions.

I am board-certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Rocky Vista University in Colorado and completed my internship and psychiatry residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I have extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, particularly in military and veteran populations.

I previously served as Medical Director at Sumner Regional Hospital and Assistant Professor at Meharry Medical College.

My primary objectives are to help patients achieve success in both treatment and life goals and to always take time to truly listen. The primary focus of my sessions is to provide medication management with education on treatment options. I provide therapy models that are appropriate within that 20–30 minute medication session. If longer therapy time frames are indicated, I will discuss the need to add a therapist to the treatment team to achieve optimal care. My successful treatment outcomes are based on experience, staying current on psychiatric treatments, and having open communication with patients and families of children/adolescents so they can choose the most effective treatments.

I have 21 years of experience in treating adults, adolescents, and children. I graduated from Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina, then moved to Rochester, NY to complete my residency and fellowship at University of Rochester School of Medicine. My focus over the last ten years has been on working with young adults, children/adolescents, and their families. My expertise covers a wide array of therapeutic modalities and mental health diagnoses.

Prior to medical school, I worked in both marine and biochemical research venues and was coauthor on several research papers. I have an avid interest in the emerging field of neuroscience and frequently give talks to colleagues and students on current research topics.

I am a psychiatrist board certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I completed my medical and psychiatric training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Baptist Memorial Hospital in collaboration with IAC (Integrated Addiction Care) in Memphis, TN. I have clinical experience and practice working with other specialties and disciplines in treatment teams and integrated care models both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. I have held an academic appointment at Baptist Memorial Hospital where I enjoyed teaching and supervising medical residents and fellows in training. I most recently served as the Regional Behavioral Health Medical Director for a group of mental health clinics throughout Tennessee, and as the Chief of Psychiatric Services for a residential treatment facility in Mississippi that also had Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programming (PHP/IOP).

I have experience treating a wide variety of psychiatric conditions and recognize that lifestyle factors such as sleep, physical activity, and stress-reduction are foundations of good mental health. Alongside medication management, I provide brief supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, as well as elements of cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies to assist patients in meeting their goals. I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at Cornell University, followed by a neuroscience research-focused Master's degree at the University of Mississippi. I then attended medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, graduating with my MD degree as a Medical Student Research Scholar and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. I completed adult psychiatry residency training at the University of Cincinnati and have since been working primarily in telepsychiatry.
