I am a psychiatrist with Talkiatry, board-certified in psychiatry. I received my MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine at UAB and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Prior to joining Talkiatry, I held an academic appointment at UTHSC as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and served as the Clinical Director of the Memphis Mental Health Institute.

My practice centers around treating the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit. I believe the judicious use of psychiatric medications, coupled with psychotherapy and alternative treatments such as meditation and yoga, can bring about transformative changes in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions and life issues. In addition to general adult psychiatry, I received extensive training in one of the nation's largest women's mood disorder programs at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and enjoy treating peripartum and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I am also well trained in addiction medicine and received additional training in buprenorphine use for opioid addiction.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for over 10 years. I graduated with Honors in Psychology from The University of Florida, received my medical degree from The University of South Alabama School of Medicine, completed a clinical postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed my Psychiatry residency training at The University of North Carolina. I am currently obtaining my MBA. After residency, I worked as a psychiatric hospitalist at Trident Medical Center in Charleston and have also worked in private practice. Most recently I served as Chief Medical Officer for an 80-bed psychiatric hospital, Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital in Stuart, FL. I have worked in inpatient units, private practice, and community mental health, as well as served as Chief Medical Officer of a large psychiatric hospital. In 2018 I was awarded the Charleston Choice Award for Best Psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina. I currently reside in South Florida.

I am a Staff Psychiatrist at Talkiatry, board-certified in General Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. My approach is holistic, collaborative, supportive, and patient-centered. My primary clinical focus is treating children and adolescents, and I have been caring for children and adolescents as a physician for more than 15 years. I incorporate therapeutic techniques into medication management visits, but I may also recommend adding a therapist to your care team for the best results.

I received my medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA, before moving to Memphis to complete my residency in Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. I completed my undergraduate studies at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. After completing training, I remained in Memphis and worked in the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Emergency Department as a pediatrician. I then moved to Nashville to work at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in the Emergency Department Fast Track and After-Hours Clinics. I transitioned to primary care pediatrics at Pediatric Associates of Davidson County for several years before returning to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis to complete the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Post-Pediatric Portal Fellowship program. I draw on my years as a pediatrician working with families and children in my work as a psychiatrist.

I hold the position of Staff Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. After finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I completed the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Master of Science program before enrolling in medical school at the same institution. After graduating from medical school, I completed my residency at UTHSC, during which I trained in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings and treated a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.

I earned my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed my psychiatry residency at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. I have worked with adults of all ages in both outpatient and inpatient settings, bringing a wide range of experience to my practice.

My specialties include affective and anxiety disorders, and I have specific expertise in neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, and alternative treatments for affective disorders. I practice psychotherapy from an Eriksonian perspective and am well versed in individual and psychodynamic psychotherapies.

I most recently served as medical director for clinical services at Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. After several years of private practice, I served as Chief of Inpatient Psychiatric Services and then as Chief of Psychiatry at Mountain Home VA Medical Center. During my time at Mountain Home VA, I was also a Professor of Psychiatry at Quillen Medical School at East Tennessee State University, where I taught General Psychiatry courses and the Neurosciences of Psychiatry. I have an extensive psychiatric background in practice and as a teacher.

I am a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Past President of both the Tennessee Psychiatric Association and the Southern Psychiatric Association. I have been awarded a Distinguished Service Award from the United States Public Health Service. I have been twice named the Outstanding Teacher Award from the ETSU Psychiatry Residency program and was awarded Course Director of the Year for the Neurosciences residency course I developed. I also hold an Irma J. Bland Award for Excellence in Psychiatric Education from the APA.

I specialize in both psychiatric medication management and various forms of psychotherapy. I believe that effective psychiatric treatment requires attention to multiple domains, including the establishment of a strong doctor/patient relationship, the development of a sound understanding of who the patient is as an individual, and a comprehensive assessment of spiritual and biological factors contributing to mental health. As such, my practice includes both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions that aim to treat the whole person on an individualized basis. I see patients of all ages, specializing in older adults, and treat all psychiatric conditions.

I am a graduate of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center General Psychiatry residency and the Duke University Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship programs, and I am board certified in Psychiatry by the ABPN. I received the 2023 Distinguished House Staff Award from the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council, which is awarded to one graduating house staff member from each department annually for excellence during training. I have conducted research on depression and PTSD, published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented posters at conferences, and written a chapter for a book on medical education. I am a native of the Tennessee mountains. I completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis and a general psychiatry residency in San Antonio, Texas. I have worked in academic medical centers, public schools, state hospitals, a transgender health clinic, and a residential eating disorder center. I am experienced in caring for LGBTQIA+ individuals and underserved rural communities.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist who completed my General Psychiatry residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY. During my residency, I was selected by faculty to serve as an administrative chief resident based on my leadership qualities and integrity. I received numerous awards during my residency training, including the Excellence in Compassionate Care Award, Academic Achievement Award, and Harold Pass Excellence in Psychotherapy Award. I also served as an Outpatient Senior Resident to help junior residents acclimate to the outpatient treatment setting and telehealth format.

I received my master's degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. I then completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA, where I served as president of my medical school's chapter of Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Service Fraternity and co-founder of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Campus Club.

Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

I am a dual board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where I also served as Chief Fellow, and my general psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Over the past year, I have provided telehealth psychiatric consultations across emergency rooms and inpatient settings, gaining extensive experience across state hospitals, outpatient clinics, college mental health, preschool, mood disorder, and community health clinics.

My practice focuses on medication management and also employs empathic listening, supportive psychotherapy techniques, and a comprehensive and methodological approach to visits. I have experience working with patients of all ages, particularly those with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Tic disorders, substance use disorders, and more. I have had the opportunity of working with a diverse array of patients including children, adolescents, the severely mentally ill, veterans, and cancer patients across three distinct hospital systems. My clinical experiences have spanned specialty inpatient psychiatry units, emergency psychiatry, consultation liaison psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and outpatient clinics via telemedicine and face to face interactions.

I completed my post-doctoral residency and fellowship training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I have served as an active US Army officer and recently separated from the US Army after 11 years of service. In my most recent role, I served as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Behavioral Health at Fort Campbell, KY, where I provided clinical and administrative supervision, as well as mentorship and guidance for an interdisciplinary team of over 140 personnel. I maintained oversight of behavioral health care being delivered through 11 clinics and satellite locations, providing patient care for over 30,000 beneficiaries. While in leadership, I continued to provide direct patient care for service members and dependents, including child and adolescent populations. Due to my experience with this unique population, I have extensive experience in treating individuals with trauma.

If additional therapy is needed, I utilize referrals to psychotherapists to enhance management of mental illness and provide the best treatment outcomes.
