My practice centers around treating the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit. I believe the judicious use of psychiatric medications, coupled with psychotherapy and alternative treatments such as meditation and yoga, can bring about transformative changes in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions and life issues. In addition to general adult psychiatry, I received extensive training in one of the nation's largest women's mood disorder programs at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and enjoy treating peripartum and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I am also well trained in addiction medicine and received additional training in buprenorphine use for opioid addiction.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for over 10 years. I graduated with Honors in Psychology from The University of Florida, received my medical degree from The University of South Alabama School of Medicine, completed a clinical postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed my Psychiatry residency training at The University of North Carolina. I am currently obtaining my MBA. After residency, I worked as a psychiatric hospitalist at Trident Medical Center in Charleston and have also worked in private practice. Most recently I served as Chief Medical Officer for an 80-bed psychiatric hospital, Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital in Stuart, FL. I have worked in inpatient units, private practice, and community mental health, as well as served as Chief Medical Officer of a large psychiatric hospital. In 2018 I was awarded the Charleston Choice Award for Best Psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina. I currently reside in South Florida.

Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

Dr. Alicia Garcete is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist in practice for over 12 years. Her practice focuses on medication management, recognizing  family involvement is extremely important and is an integral part of treatment. Dr Garcete has treated a wide variety of patients. Her primary focus is treating depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD and OCD. Additionally, she can provide supportive therapy and elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy but on occasions more therapy support may be needed, and the recommendation to bring a psychotherapist on the care team may occur to provide an optimal outcome. Dr. Garcete is bilingual and provides care in both Spanish and English.

Prior to Talkiatry, Dr Garcete treated children, adolescents, and adults was at the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care with focus on behavioral approaches in the Depression recovery and Anxiety/OCD programs.

Dr. Garcete earned her Medical Degree from the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion, Facultad de Ciencias Medicas in Paraguay. She completed her general psychiatrist residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. She was also a Fellow in Psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Institute, Affiliate to New York University School of Medicine, and completed her child and adolescent psychiatrist fellowship at Elmhurst Hospital Center, affiliate to Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Garcete also held a clinical assistant professor appointment from the department of psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

I specialize in both psychiatric medication management and various forms of psychotherapy. I believe that effective psychiatric treatment requires attention to multiple domains, including the establishment of a strong doctor/patient relationship, the development of a sound understanding of who the patient is as an individual, and a comprehensive assessment of spiritual and biological factors contributing to mental health. As such, my practice includes both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions that aim to treat the whole person on an individualized basis. I see patients of all ages, specializing in older adults, and treat all psychiatric conditions.

I am a graduate of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center General Psychiatry residency and the Duke University Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship programs, and I am board certified in Psychiatry by the ABPN. I received the 2023 Distinguished House Staff Award from the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council, which is awarded to one graduating house staff member from each department annually for excellence during training. I have conducted research on depression and PTSD, published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented posters at conferences, and written a chapter for a book on medical education. My primary clinical focus is treating children and adolescents, and I have been caring for children and adolescents as a physician for more than 15 years. I incorporate therapeutic techniques into medication management visits, but I may also recommend adding a therapist to your care team for the best results.

I received my medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA, before moving to Memphis to complete my residency in Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. I completed my undergraduate studies at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. After completing training, I remained in Memphis and worked in the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital Emergency Department as a pediatrician. I then moved to Nashville to work at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in the Emergency Department Fast Track and After-Hours Clinics. I transitioned to primary care pediatrics at Pediatric Associates of Davidson County for several years before returning to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis to complete the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Post-Pediatric Portal Fellowship program. I draw on my years as a pediatrician working with families and children in my work as a psychiatrist.

I implement an integrative approach to my practice that primarily utilizes medication management and various psychotherapy disciplines such as cognitive-behavioral, supportive, and psychodynamic techniques. While I am trained in a variety of therapeutic fields, I work collaboratively with therapists and may recommend their inclusion as part of your treatment team to provide you with the level of care you deserve. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who completed my General Psychiatry residency training at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY. During my residency, I was selected by faculty to serve as an administrative chief resident based on my leadership qualities and integrity. I received numerous awards during my residency training, including the Excellence in Compassionate Care Award, Academic Achievement Award, and Harold Pass Excellence in Psychotherapy Award. I also served as an Outpatient Senior Resident to help junior residents acclimate to the outpatient treatment setting and telehealth format.

I received my master's degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. I then completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA, where I served as president of my medical school's chapter of Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Service Fraternity and co-founder of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Campus Club.

I am a board-certified General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over nine years of experience. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College, with a dual major in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Neuroscience. After receiving a Health Professions Scholarship from the Army, I obtained my medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. I later transitioned to federal civilian service and served as a preceptor for Phase II Physician Assistant trainees and Army Social Work interns, reinforcing a passion for education that carried me to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). During my time at WRNMMC, I served in several roles including Deputy Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry, core faculty for the National Capital Consortium Psychiatry Residency Program, Associate Program Director, and associate faculty at the Uniform Services University for Health Sciences (USUHS). Prior to transitioning out of federal service to join Talkiatry, I was repeatedly recognized for excellence in academics and mentorship and received multiple teaching awards. This zeal for education and mentorship, as well as humility, personal growth, and learning, translates directly into my philosophy for patient care.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and a graduate of the Duke Psychiatry residency program. I am originally from NC — I studied Neuroscience at NCSU and attended medical school at ECU. I am joining the Talkiatry team after working as a staff psychiatrist at the Durham VA, where I also served as a consulting professor for the Duke psychiatry residency program.

I received my medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV, before moving to southern California to complete my residency at Loma Linda University. After completing training, I began working with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Riverside, CA, where I treated a variety of psychiatric disorders in an outpatient setting. In March of 2020, as the pandemic changed life and medicine forever, I adopted a strictly telepsychiatry role at my clinic. I have also held a staff psychiatrist position as an adult inpatient psychiatrist in Tennessee. I treat a wide variety of psychiatric disorders within the adult demographic.

My primary objectives are to help patients achieve success in both treatment and life goals and to always take time to truly listen. The primary focus of my sessions is to provide medication management with education on treatment options. I provide therapy models that are appropriate within that 20–30 minute medication session. I have 21 years of experience in treating adults, adolescents, and children. I graduated from Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina, then moved to Rochester, NY to complete my residency and fellowship at University of Rochester School of Medicine. My focus over the last ten years has been on working with young adults, children/adolescents, and their families. My expertise covers a wide array of therapeutic modalities and mental health diagnoses.

Prior to medical school, I worked in both marine and biochemical research venues and was coauthor on several research papers. I have an avid interest in the emerging field of neuroscience and frequently give talks to colleagues and students on current research topics.

I am a psychiatrist with Talkiatry, board-certified in psychiatry. I received my MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine at UAB and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Prior to joining Talkiatry, I held an academic appointment at UTHSC as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and served as the Clinical Director of the Memphis Mental Health Institute.

In my most recent role, I served as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Behavioral Health at Fort Campbell, KY, where I provided clinical and administrative supervision, as well as mentorship and guidance for an interdisciplinary team of over 140 personnel. I maintained oversight of behavioral health care being delivered through 11 clinics and satellite locations, providing patient care for over 30,000 beneficiaries. While in leadership, I continued to provide direct patient care for service members and dependents, including child and adolescent populations. Due to my experience with this unique population, I have extensive experience in treating individuals with trauma.

After finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I completed the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Master of Science program before enrolling in medical school at the same institution. After graduating from medical school, I completed my residency at UTHSC, during which I trained in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings and treated a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.
