I had a private practice for over 10 years with a focus on providing psychotherapy integrated with pharmacological management. I worked for 25 years with adult and geriatric Veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs with a focus on treating PTSD, as well as a full range of anxiety and mood disorders, including 7 years of providing care through telehealth treatment. I also have 10 years of experience working with adolescents in the juvenile justice system.

I also served as a chief resident of the psychiatry program and published several case studies.

I joined the faculty of Gateway's Savannah residency program in 2021, where I served as Assistant Program Director, and I continue to teach residents and students as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia. In my community psychiatry practice, I specialized in Assertive Community Treatment, worked with First Episode Psychosis programs, a forensic Diversion-Reentry clinic, telehealth, and outpatient psychiatry, particularly serving graduate students, professionals, and their families in the Savannah area.

I was born in Hungary, just a few months before the Hungarian Revolution against the Soviets broke out in 1956. My family and I fled under difficult circumstances and immigrated to the United States. I grew up in New York City, attended The Bronx High School of Science, and went on to Columbia University for my B.A., where I took a double major in chemistry and music. After obtaining my M.D. from S.U.N.Y. in Syracuse, I returned to New York City for residency and fellowship training. During this time I won the Bendheim Fellowship Award at Cohen Children's Medical Center for a research study that examined the effects of background music on the academic performance of children with ADHD.

My current areas of interest include adult ADHD, psychiatric and medical co-morbidities, and the LGBTQ population.
