Biography
Jeffrey Simms is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2013. Licensed since 2014, he has provided therapy in outpatient and community mental health settings, both in person and virtually. He has experience working with individuals ages 5 to 95 in both individual and group therapy.
Jeffrey uses an evidence-based approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while drawing from other therapeutic modalities when appropriate. He offers practical strategies to help manage symptoms and values patient feedback to ensure treatment remains effective and tailored to each individual's needs.
Jeffrey begins with a thorough assessment to understand each patient's concerns, strengths, and goals. Together, they develop specific, measurable treatment goals that guide therapy. Progress is reviewed regularly, celebrating achievements while adjusting goals and strategies as needs evolve.
