I completed my undergraduate studies at Stetson University in DeLand, FL, before earning my medical degree and completing my psychiatry residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

I enjoy working with patients going through life transitions such as high school to college and college to adult life. I believe it is important to understand the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) when treating them. I treat people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and ADHD, as well as trouble with relationships and family conflict. I provide both medication management and therapy, and I believe that medication is just one of the items in a psychiatrist's toolbox and that therapy is equally important as medication.

I am board certified in Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. I graduated medical school from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, and completed my residency and child/adolescent fellowship trainings at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Center in Denver, CO. Previously, I worked on the inpatient and partial hospitalization child/adolescent psychiatric units at Children's Hospital Colorado, as well as in the school-based health clinics through Denver Health in partnership with Denver Public Schools. I have also worked in community mental health at the Mental Health Cooperative clinics throughout the Middle Tennessee region, and most recently joined a private practice before joining Talkiatry. I have been named to Nashville Lifestyles Magazine's Top Doctors list in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I am a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

I am an adult psychiatrist who holds board certification with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I focus on medication management combined with supportive therapy during initial and follow-up visits. I practice whole-person medicine, caring for the wellness of your mind, body, and spirit and helping you enjoy your relationships with those around you.

I received my medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV, before moving to southern California to complete my residency at Loma Linda University. After completing training, I began working with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Riverside, CA, where I treated a variety of psychiatric disorders in an outpatient setting. In March of 2020, as the pandemic changed life and medicine forever, I adopted a strictly telepsychiatry role at my clinic. I have also held a staff psychiatrist position as an adult inpatient psychiatrist in Tennessee. I treat a wide variety of psychiatric disorders within the adult demographic.

My practice focuses on medication management and also employs empathic listening, supportive psychotherapy techniques, and a comprehensive and methodological approach to visits. I have experience working with patients of all ages, particularly those with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Tic disorders, substance use disorders, and more. Given my broad and diverse training experiences, I enjoy problem solving and working collaboratively with patients (and their families) to navigate their complex issues and jointly focusing on simple solutions to work towards improving their mental health.

I am a board-certified Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. I completed my undergraduate education at Emory University and attended medical school at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I subsequently completed psychiatry residency at University of Miami/Jackson Health System and further sub-specialized there with a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have had the opportunity of working with a diverse array of patients including children, adolescents, the severely mentally ill, veterans, and cancer patients across three distinct hospital systems. My clinical experiences have spanned specialty inpatient psychiatry units, emergency psychiatry, consultation liaison psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and outpatient clinics via telemedicine and face to face interactions.

My style is warm, curious, and collaborative. I emphasize understanding each individual in the context of their psychosocial development, life experiences, and cultural and societal stressors. I believe mental health cannot be separated from the challenges faced at school, work, within families, and in society at large. I listen carefully, ensuring patients and families feel understood, and work together to create practical, personalized treatment plans. I integrate psychopharmacology with therapy, coping strategies, and resilience-building, aiming for patients to feel supported, empowered, and actively engaged in care that evolves with their needs.

I am a dual board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I completed my fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where I also served as Chief Fellow, and my general psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Over the past year, I have provided telehealth psychiatric consultations across emergency rooms and inpatient settings, gaining extensive experience across state hospitals, outpatient clinics, college mental health, preschool, mood disorder, and community health clinics.

I focus primarily on medication management, often accompanied by brief cognitive, motivational, or supportive therapy. I may request that you also meet with a therapist regularly for your benefit. I am a board-certified psychiatrist joining Talkiatry directly out of residency. I received my medical degree and completed my general psychiatric residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in West Texas.

My primary focus has been on treating adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and PTSD. I have an approachable, patient-centered style, combined with a passion for optimizing sleep as it pertains to management of a psychiatric illness and overall well-being. I offer supportive therapy as part of my medication management visits, and at times may also offer cognitive behavioral therapy to address underlying stressors which may be contributing to one's presenting ailments. I may also recommend including a therapist in your care team to optimize outcomes.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist and am also fluent in Spanish. I completed residency at North Florida Regional in Gainesville via the University of Central Florida, where I also served as chief resident for education. I received my medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tennessee. I also hold a master's and bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of South Florida, in Tampa.

I have worked with a wide array of patients across various medical settings and have experience treating patients with psychiatric illness who may also be suffering from medical comorbidities, such as obesity, hypertension, pain, and diabetes. I have been deeply involved with teaching and emphasize psychoeducation while working in collaboration with my patients to help tailor their personalized treatment plan.

I earned my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed my psychiatry residency at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. I have worked with adults of all ages in both outpatient and inpatient settings, bringing a wide range of experience to my practice.

I am a graduate of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center General Psychiatry residency and the Duke University Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship programs, and I am board certified in Psychiatry by the ABPN. I received the 2023 Distinguished House Staff Award from the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council, which is awarded to one graduating house staff member from each department annually for excellence during training. I have conducted research on depression and PTSD, published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented posters at conferences, and written a chapter for a book on medical education. Dr. Stephanie Negrey is a board certified psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and History at Fordham University in the Bronx and then attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio as a member of the United States Air Force. Dr. Negrey served as an active duty psychiatrist; her duties included medical director of the mental health clinic at a special operations base as well as a program manager for the Air Force substance use program.

Dr. Negrey has experience treating a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with particular emphasis on personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. She integrates supportive and psychodynamic therapies into her medication management appointments with a goal of achieving improvement through a holistic approach. Dr. Negrey will work with patients to reach their goals for their mental health care while also providing a compassionate and collaborative environment.

I believe in patient-centered care and a holistic approach to medicine. My practice focuses on medication management, in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. If additional therapy is needed, I utilize referrals to psychotherapists to enhance management of mental illness and provide the best treatment outcomes. I am a board-eligible adult psychiatrist. I obtained my medical degree at Nova Southeastern University and was elected chief resident by my residency program at the University of Central Florida. I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University. I have worked in a variety of medical settings with different patient populations, including outpatient, consult liaison, and inpatient psychiatry.

My specialties include affective and anxiety disorders, and I have specific expertise in neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, and alternative treatments for affective disorders. I practice psychotherapy from an Eriksonian perspective and am well versed in individual and psychodynamic psychotherapies.

I most recently served as medical director for clinical services at Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. After several years of private practice, I served as Chief of Inpatient Psychiatric Services and then as Chief of Psychiatry at Mountain Home VA Medical Center. During my time at Mountain Home VA, I was also a Professor of Psychiatry at Quillen Medical School at East Tennessee State University, where I taught General Psychiatry courses and the Neurosciences of Psychiatry. I have an extensive psychiatric background in practice and as a teacher.

I am a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Past President of both the Tennessee Psychiatric Association and the Southern Psychiatric Association. I have been awarded a Distinguished Service Award from the United States Public Health Service. I have been twice named the Outstanding Teacher Award from the ETSU Psychiatry Residency program and was awarded Course Director of the Year for the Neurosciences residency course I developed. I also hold an Irma J. Bland Award for Excellence in Psychiatric Education from the APA.

I implement an integrative approach to my practice that primarily utilizes medication management and various psychotherapy disciplines such as cognitive-behavioral, supportive, and psychodynamic techniques. I also served as an Outpatient Senior Resident to help junior residents acclimate to the outpatient treatment setting and telehealth format.

I received my master's degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. I then completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Seton Hill in Greensburg, PA, where I served as president of my medical school's chapter of Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Service Fraternity and co-founder of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Campus Club.

Edmund Clark, MD, serves as Chief Psychiatrist at Talkiatry with over 17 years of board-certified experience, including more than 5 years delivering tele-psychiatric care to underserved areas. His career spans 23 years in public service, including leadership roles as Chief of the VA Mental Health Clinics in Jacksonville, FL, and program manager for the University of Florida’s Psychiatry Residency Training Program. A former U.S. Navy psychiatrist, he deployed multiple times, including to Iraq in support of an Army Combat Stress Control clinic, gaining expertise in evidence-based PTSD treatments. Dr. Clark earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his psychiatry residency at the National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed, serving as chief resident for over 50 military trainees. Before medicine, he served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya.

Dr. Clark values a collaborative approach built on honesty, rapport, and ensuring patients feel heard. He helps patients identify and address multiple factors influencing their mental health, aiming for positive, lasting changes that improve function across life domains. He encourages evidence-based therapies and, when needed, involves other providers to support comprehensive care.
