Biography
I see patients as partners in therapy, valuing their expertise in their own experiences. I integrate modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based and Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Enhancement. My approach emphasizes self-determination, cultural respect, and trauma-informed care, guiding patients toward growth and well-being. I use structured assessments to understand patients' goals, strengths, and challenges, viewing goal-setting as a dynamic process. I encourage actionable steps between sessions and seek ongoing feedback to tailor treatment. My aim is to foster insight, resilience, and sustainable change while supporting patients throughout their therapeutic journey.
I am a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in Social Work, holding the LISW-S and LICDC-CS credentials. I earned my MSW from Ohio State University and a BA from the University of Notre Dame. I have fourteen years in clinical social work and thirteen years in substance use treatment, with experience across residential/inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, community mental health, and integrated primary care settings.
