Biography

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose main passion is helping people living with mental health concerns regain the ability to function, thrive, and find greater fulfillment in life. I take a holistic approach that considers each person’s biological, psychological, and social needs, while recognizing that positive change is possible through a collaborative relationship.

I believe effective care begins with listening to your concerns, understanding your goals, and building a partnership based on trust and respect. I provide individualized treatment and psychoeducation about brain chemistry, thought processes, and how medication and therapy may support meaningful improvement. I may incorporate psychotropic medications or herbal remedies when appropriate to your needs and preferences.

I begin by learning about your symptoms, history, current needs, and goals, then work with you to develop a treatment plan that supports your quality of life. We will regularly assess your progress, discuss what is and is not working, and make adjustments together so that your care remains responsive to your needs and focused on helping you achieve lasting, meaningful change.

I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed training as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at the University of Cincinnati. My clinical experience includes acute inpatient care, community mental health, and private practice. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, serving in my local church, and making quilts.

I use a holistic treatment approach that may include medication management and psychotherapy, while incorporating evidence-based practices to provide quality care. I value helping each patient feel heard and understood, creating a supportive environment where open and honest communication can foster growth.

I begin by actively listening to understand your concerns and treatment goals, synthesizing the information shared during the initial session to develop an individualized plan. Through our therapeutic alliance, we establish mutually agreed-upon goals and use periodic check-ins to monitor progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

I have practiced in inpatient and outpatient settings and as a consultant/liaison for psychiatric needs in an inpatient medical setting. I have worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2018. I earned my Doctor of Nursing degree from the University of South Alabama and am nationally board certified as a PMHNP by the ANCC.

I value a collaborative approach to treatment planning and strive to create a safe, supportive environment where each patient feels heard, respected, and valued. I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic alliance and embrace working with patients from diverse backgrounds, recognizing and respecting each person’s unique experiences and perspectives.

At the first visit, I will take a thorough history of symptoms and concerns and explore your unique history to develop a treatment plan. Plans are tailored to each individual and developed collaboratively. Subsequent visits explore progress, assess nonpharmacological therapeutic approaches, and adjust the plan as needed.

My nursing career began in 1998 after earning my Associate Degree in Nursing from Palm Beach Community College. I later earned my BSN from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Keiser University, and a Post-Master's PMHNP Certificate from Wilkes University. I've cared for patients in inpatient, outpatient, ACT, correctional, and group home settings, treating adults with a wide range of mental health conditions using evidence-based medication management and supportive psychotherapy.

I strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard and valued. I believe the best outcomes come from working together, with empathy, open communication, and shared decision-making. Together, we'll develop personalized goals that support your mental health and overall well-being.

I begin by learning about your concerns, symptoms, history, goals, and expectations. We identify your strengths and priorities, then create an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive psychotherapy, coping strategies, and referrals when needed. During follow-up visits, we monitor progress and adjust your plan to support lasting wellness.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience in therapy and psychotropic medication management across partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and virtual outpatient settings. I began my career as an independent stained glass artist, then earned my BSN from Regis University and later my PMHNP degree from Azusa Pacific University.

I approach each patient with genuine curiosity about who you are, how you think and feel, and how you experience life. I value therapeutic rapport, authenticity, empathy, reflection, and a gentle sense of humor. I am willing to have difficult conversations while respecting the importance of timing. I view medication as a tool to support quality of life, not a complete solution.

I begin with a thorough medical, family, and psychiatric history, then collaborate with you to identify what matters most to address first. Together, we develop a realistic plan that may include CBT, DBT, and Mentalization-Based Therapy, along with thoughtful medication management.

Hello! I’m Brennan, a psychiatric nurse practitioner. My practice is grounded in compassion, curiosity, transparency, and creating an inclusive space where you feel heard and respected. I specialize in PTSD and C-PTSD and work with LGBTQIA+ concerns, polyamory/ENM, weight-loss psychiatry, and other areas that may not receive attention in traditional mental health settings.

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about what is troubling you, not simply assigning a diagnosis. I want to understand your symptoms, concerns, history, goals, and what you hope to get from treatment. We’ll discuss explanations and treatment options, including approaches with and without medication. You should expect compassion, careful questioning, and an honest conversation. We’ll work toward a plan that addresses your needs and clarifies next steps.

My approach follows a “no surprise” method of communication. If your diagnosis, medication, treatment approach, or therapy style needs to change, I’ll explain what changed, why, and what information led us there. You should never feel like decisions are being made without you. I value open communication and want you to feel secure, respected, and heard. My goal is to work with you rather than tell you what to do. We’ll assess what is working, what isn’t, and adjust so your care aligns with your goals.

Belinda Walsh, PMHNP

Hello, I am Belinda Walsh, a psychiatric mental health and women’s health nurse practitioner. I have been a nurse for over 25 years, working in public health, obstetrics, and psychiatry.

I love working with people and talking with them. My purpose in the therapeutic relationship is to learn about my patient and their goals. I then share my knowledge so we can develop a treatment plan my patient is comfortable with while staying open to their expectations and desires. My primary goal is to help improve a patient’s life so they can be their best selves.

During an initial appointment, I like my client to tell me why they are seeing me, their concerns, and how these have affected their life. I then learn their history, what they have been through, what has or has not helped in the past, and their goals for treatment. Quality care takes time, and sometimes it takes more than one appointment. I will be as informative as possible, working together on realistic expectations and a treatment approach that fits each client’s life.

I’m a PMHNP who provides psychiatric care to adults 18 and older. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Michigan and am ANCC board certified. My clinical approach is informed by experience across acute care, long-term care, forensic psychiatry, outpatient care, and PHP settings. I take a comprehensive approach to assessment, focusing on factors contributing to symptoms rather than diagnostic labels alone.

I believe you are more than a diagnosis. I look beyond presenting symptoms to understand biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors, as well as your history, goals, values, and circumstances. I create a collaborative, respectful environment where you feel heard and involved in your care. When appropriate, I consider nutrition, psychotherapy, lifestyle, medication response, and pharmacogenetic testing to support individualized treatment.

I begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, history, concerns, goals, and overall functioning. I review current and previous medications, treatment responses, and relevant medical and psychiatric history while considering contributing biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. I then develop an individualized plan with you, balancing clinical recommendations with your preferences and goals, and monitor and adjust treatment as needed.
