Having dedicated my career to adult outpatient psychiatry, I have worked with patients from a wide range of ages, cultures, ethnicities, and social settings across the New York City area. Prior to joining Talkiatry, I was an Assistant Professor at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and served as Director of the Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Department, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, and Collaborative Care Departments at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. I also had a small practice near my home.

I have had a lifelong interest in meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. This interest has taken me as far away as the townships of Cape Town, South Africa and as close as my local diner, and it edifies the work I do with patients.

My approach to treatment focuses on adopting a holistic approach through behavioral change, medication management, and brief psychotherapy.

I received my medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and completed my psychiatry residency program at the University of Virginia. I completed a fellowship in addiction psychiatry through Boston University, after which I started working at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

I previously held a leadership role as medical director for the dual diagnosis partial hospitalization program at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, where I helped create and establish this program, and also worked as an outpatient addiction psychiatrist. I have been involved in teaching and have maintained an academic affiliation with Harvard Medical School. In addition, I have appeared in numerous professional publications and authored several research papers.

My practice entails medication management accompanied by supportive psychotherapy. I frequently encourage other forms of psychotherapy with a counselor to maximize treatment outcomes.

I am a board certified adult psychiatric provider with over 10 years of experience, and I have additional years working in the medical field as a physician assistant. After completing medical school at Central America Health Science University, I returned to New York City and completed my psychiatry residency at New York Medical College Program at Metropolitan Hospital Center. Subsequently, I moved to Minnesota and worked with Park Nicollet Health Service/HealthPartners, where I spent 10.5 years overseeing a successful psychiatric practice and helping patients who had been struggling with their conditions. I am a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in addition to the American Psychiatry Association and State Psychiatry Association.

I also enjoy attending conferences and reading journals to learn about cutting-edge treatments so that I remain updated on the most recent FDA-approved medications.

My primary focus is on medication management, though I also have experience working in four different outpatient clinics where I have gained expertise in multiple different therapy modalities. If appropriate, I will refer you for psychotherapy and collaborate with your therapist to support your care. I appreciate the importance of fostering a meaningful therapeutic relationship, and my goal is to make every patient feel welcomed in a non-judgmental treatment environment. I also take a holistic approach, as I understand that good health creates a sense of overall well-being and improved mental health. I completed my medical education at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, then completed my residency in adult psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and went on to complete my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital. During this time, I also taught a course titled Love Actually at NYU School of Arts and Science. During training, I gained extensive clinical experience in psychiatric inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, allowing me the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and backgrounds in numerous busy hospitals in New York City.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry with over 20 years of clinical experience. I earned my medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed my adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry training at NYU School of Medicine. I also have specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Before joining Talkiatry, I served as Chief of Adult Behavioral Health at a busy urban community health clinic.

I am a board-eligible adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for four years. My focus is on using a collaborative approach and shared decision-making to help patients achieve their treatment goals. I typically provide monthly 30-minute follow-ups with a focus on medication management and supportive therapy. In some instances, I may recommend a separate therapist to help facilitate the best care possible.

I earned my bachelor's degree in History of Art from Johns Hopkins University and then completed my master's at King's College London in international development with a focus on climate change. I received my medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry training at Mount Sinai Morningside and West Hospitals. I have worked with a diverse patient population while training at Mount Sinai Morningside.

My approach is to educate clients on their mental health, available pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic options, and to collaborate with them in formulating an evidence-based treatment plan. I offer medication management in 30-minute follow-up visits informed by my psychotherapy experience. I am a board-certified psychiatrist trained in Adult Psychiatry. I completed my residency at Yale University and have received specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at Columbia University and NYU. Over the past three years, I have worked in college student health centers and private practice.

I use a practical and realistic approach with patients to assist them in identifying small, attainable goals and then motivating them to achieve those goals. I prefer to work with adults and relish the opportunity to work with patients who are highly motivated for change.

I completed medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995. I then completed a residency in general psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a fellowship in forensic psychiatry also at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia from 1995–2000. I spent ten years practicing forensic psychiatry at a state hospital in Atlanta. I then decided that I wanted to travel and spent eighteen months as a locum tenens psychiatrist primarily practicing in New England. During this time, I met my future husband and we decided together that we eventually wanted to live in the New England area. In 2013, I officially became a telepsychiatrist, which eventually provided me with the opportunity to move to Rhode Island and practice out of the home my husband and I bought there. I initially saw patients via telepsychiatry at a community mental health center in rural Georgia and later took a position as a remote consultant telepsychiatrist at Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine.

My practice focuses on medication management. In my visits, I use an integrative approach, blending an empathic, problem-solving orientation with an understanding that the reasons for an individual's condition can be complex. I have experience dealing with many forms of mental illness and work collaboratively with my patients and their other treatment providers in making a plan for recovery.

After receiving my medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, I continued for residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. I ultimately completed my training as Chief of Psychiatric Emergency Services at Yale School of Medicine. I received my medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete my residency in psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center. Over my career, I have practiced in various settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient substance abuse rehab/detox programs, where I treated patients with a variety of psychiatric illnesses.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate care for a wide range of mental health concerns. My clinical approach emphasizes building trust with my patients and working collaboratively to develop an individualized treatment plan. I use medication management along with cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and supportive therapy as needed. I am a board-certified psychiatrist trained in adult psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry, formerly known as psychosomatic medicine. I specialize in working with patients with acute and chronic medical conditions that may be affecting their mental health, such as cancer, stroke, or a heart condition. I provide patient-centered care utilizing a collaborative approach to help my patients reach their goals. My other areas of clinical interest include ICU delirium and cardiac psychiatry.

I have been practicing for over five years and have extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatry. I am a native of Louisiana and a graduate of the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. During my fourth year of medical school, I was elected to the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and was awarded the John W. Bick Excellence in Psychiatry award. I completed my psychiatry residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where I served as Chief Resident and was a PRITE Fellow. Afterwards, I completed a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Yale-New Haven Hospital. I have multiple scholarly publications, particularly in the fields of emergency psychiatry and hospital delirium, and have presented at the annual conference for the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

I am originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and am bilingual in Spanish and English. I earned my medical degree from Universidad de Guayaquil in Ecuador and then participated in a medical program at The William J. Harrington Training Program for Latin America and the Caribbean, at Jackson Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Miami in Florida. Afterwards, I completed my adult psychiatry residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Bronx Care Health System, and my fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Northwell Health in New York. I have experience working in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments. I have submitted and presented work to the American Psychiatric Association and have also collaborated on a book publication.

I focus on medication management and offer this in conjunction with supportive therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, a focus on nutritional psychiatry, and 30-minute follow-up visits. I integrate nutrition, physical activity, and mindfulness techniques alongside pharmacotherapy to achieve a well-rounded approach to mental health.

I am double board-certified in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. I received my medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, then moved to New York to complete my residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where I stayed to complete my fellowship in geriatric psychiatry. After my fellowship, I worked at Woodhull Hospital as an attending before becoming unit chief and running their Special Pathogens Unit during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am a staff psychiatrist at Talkiatry, board-certified in adult psychiatry. My practice is focused primarily on medication management, which I combine with a therapeutic style that blends supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Follow-up appointments with me typically last 20–30 minutes. While I am trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques, I work collaboratively with therapists and may recommend their inclusion as part of your treatment team, depending on your individualized treatment plan.

I attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where I received my medical degree, and completed my psychiatry residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. I have received several awards for teaching and the treatment of chronically ill patients, including Stony Brook University's "William Turner Award" for excellence in education and leadership. Post residency, I worked with general adult patients as well as older adults at Manchester Memorial Hospital, where I served as both an outpatient psychiatrist and Director of the Geriatric Intensive Outpatient Program.

Although I do not treat child or adolescent patients, I have experience working with people of all ages, from young adults to adults. I have experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, patients in the perinatal period, and patients with co-occurring substance use disorders. I have regularly managed behavioral problems in adults with autism spectrum disorders as well as dementia. I particularly enjoy working with patients dealing with life or role transitions, older adults, and patients with bipolar or other affective disorders.

I completed my residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan, where I served as chief resident in my final year. I then worked as a psychiatrist in the outpatient department at Kings County Hospital, where I also supervised residents from SUNY Downstate. I treated patients remotely during the COVID-19 outbreak, helping to manage the increase in stress that came with the pandemic.
