Biography
It is important to me that every client feels safe, heard, and supported. I am easygoing and approachable, and I believe in meeting clients where they are. My goal is to build a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings, and goals at your own pace. In the beginning, my approach would be Person Centered Therapy to help build a strong therapeutic relationship and for clients to feel supported. Once we've established a foundation, I tailor my approach based on the client's presenting concerns. I often incorporate techniques I have experience with and feel comfortable using, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Therapy. I also believe in being flexible and adapting my methods to fit each client's situation.
I graduated from SUNY Oswego in 2019 with a degree in Mental Health Counseling. While in school, I interned at an outpatient addiction treatment center, which sparked my interest in working with adults. After graduation, I moved back to New York City and continued my work in addiction by working at a rehab facility. I later transitioned to an outpatient clinic where I had the opportunity to work with clients across a wide range of diagnoses for three years. This experience has made me more comfortable and confident supporting individuals with diverse mental health needs.
