Biography
Joanne Watson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience across acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient care, community mental health, crisis intervention, telehealth platforms, and private practice settings. She earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and a graduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Joanne uses a collaborative therapeutic approach grounded in evidence-based practices, with an emphasis on compassion, mindfulness, and empowerment. She takes a patient-centered approach and strives to build strong therapeutic rapport by creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients can openly explore concerns and work toward meaningful goals.
Joanne begins by establishing trust and building rapport while identifying core concerns and symptoms. Together, she and her clients develop personalized goals and utilize evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her goal is to support and empower clients throughout treatment while helping them develop lasting coping skills that extend beyond the therapeutic relationship.
