Biography
Laurie Thompson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience providing care in outpatient community mental health, nonprofit organizations, case management, home health, primary care, inpatient hospitals, and telehealth. She has also worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Kaiser Permanente, helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, trauma, grief, caregiver stress, chronic illness, and life transitions. Laurie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, graduating Cum Laude, and her Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health from California State University, Sacramento.
Laurie values open communication and partners with patients to establish clear, meaningful treatment goals that support individual growth. She strives to create a warm, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their care.
Laurie begins with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to understand each patient's history, concerns, and goals. She develops an individualized treatment plan using CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused, and person-centered approaches, building a collaborative therapeutic relationship while meeting each patient where they are.
