Raul Corredor, MD

Dr. Corredor is a bilingual psychiatrist, fluent in English and Spanish. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Corredor provides medication management services in combination with some forms of psychotherapy during 30-minute follow-up visits.

Dr. Corredor received his medical degree from Del Rosario University School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia, where he also completed residency training in Neurology. Dr Corredor obtained his PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Miami investigating mechanisms for neuronal plasticity and survival. He completed his psychiatry internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY., and completed his Adult Psychiatry residency training at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital program in Miami, FL.  

Dr. Corredor is a clinician-researcher that has been practicing for more than 30 years in the inpatient and the outpatient setting. He is also faculty at the Florida International University (FIU). His clinical focus has been in treating adults with depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, neurocognitive disorder, sleep disorder and ADHD.

Dr Corredor works with his patients to determine the best medication and treatment strategies based on the biological processes underlying psychological illness, trying to promote long term recovery, not just symptom relief. Treatment pursues the promotion of behavioral changes that contribute to better physical and mental wellbeing.

Kenneth Kavanagh, PMHNP

Staff Nurse Practitioner

Kenneth Kavanagh is board certified as both a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and an Adult Nurse Practitioner.  His career has spanned 30 years with the last 17 years devoted exclusively to psychiatry.  He integrates his knowledge of psychiatry and primary care into evidence-based medication management strategies.  He also possesses a good working knowledge of alternative treatments and integrating alternative treatments into more traditional approaches.  When needed to enhance patient care outcomes, he frequently works collaboratively with psychotherapists, primary care providers, and/or medical specialists.  

Kenneth currently focuses on managing depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, ADHD, somatic disorders, OCD, and bipolar disorders.  Kenneth has significant experience in working with diverse groups, including urban and rural populations across socioeconomic spectrums, professionals and college students on all levels, members of the LGBTQ community, individuals confronting life stage transitions, and people living with chronic medical conditions.

He has been through most of the life struggles we all have been through. Akili has also written several books - the latest of which, “Be an Anomaly”, is about the autism spectrum. Dorcas Adepoju, MD

Dorcas Adepoju is from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2006 from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas in 2010 and became board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2012.‍She has a decade of experience working in community mental health centers, including the Center for Health Care Services (CHCS), where she treated people experiencing homelessness and mental illness from 2012 to 2019, and later served on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team from 2019 to 2021, working with a multidisciplinary team providing wraparound services to patients with severe and persistent mental illness, in order to reduce their number of hospitalizations and to improve their quality of life. After working with the ACT Team, Dr. Adepoju worked for a little over 2 years at residential, partial day hospital, and outpatient chemical dependence treatment facilities, offering psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders. Dr. Dorcas Adepoju specializes in treating patients with severe and persistent mental illness(es) with or without substance use disorder(s). In addition, she has experience treating pregnant women with mental health challenges and continues to stay updated in this area of interest. Richard "Rick" States is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with broad and varied professional work experience in behavioral health (inpatient and outpatient, individuals and families, children and adults, direct service and program administration). Rick earned his B.A. in Psychology at Gannon University and his M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He's earned a Post-Master's Certificate in General Psychology from Northcentral University and has completed many doctorate credits in Psychology. Since 199, Rick has taught university courses in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Services, most recently at Gannon University and Penn State University. Rick's greatest area of clinical interest and skill centers around self-regulation or "how we manage" our thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviors, etc. Rick is writing a book on self-regulation and uses the concepts in day-to-life and behavioral health practice. Rick enjoys addressing challenges related to anxiety, stress, depression, substance use, and trauma. Rick employs eclectic but methodical tools, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, humanism, and somatic psychology, to assist with these challenges. Rick is EMDR trained and DBT Certified. On a more personal level, Rick is a long-term martial arts instructor, T'ai Chi instructor, and meditator. Steven Atkins, MD
