Biography
My work as a therapist centers on helping people set goals that actually matter to them and then figuring out the practical steps to get there. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of independent experience across the DMV, and I've practiced in a lot of settings: private practice, nonprofit, medical, federal, and military. That range has shown me that change happens when someone has both a clear direction and steady support to keep going. I see adolescents, adults, and older adults, and I've spent a good deal of time working with individuals, families, and service members.
My approach is collaborative and goal-focused. Early on, we'll look at what you're up against, but also at your strengths and what's motivating you to change, because both matter. From there we build a plan that's realistic, drawing on tools like CBT, solution-focused work, DBT, and narrative therapy depending on what fits you. Sessions tend to be active. I'll offer encouragement and honest accountability, and I'll help you build momentum in the areas that feel stuck. Partnership is the heart of it; I'm working alongside you, not handing down instructions.
What matters most to me is your progress on the goals you care about, at a pace that's sustainable. Bring the things you'd like to move forward on, and we'll map out where to start together.
