Before I became a licensed psychotherapist, I spent over five years as an educator in Florida and New York, and that background still shapes how I practice. I care a great deal about psychoeducation, because understanding what's actually happening tends to sharpen our insight into it.

My approach is person-centered and multicultural, which for me means paying attention to the whole context someone lives in, not just the symptoms they walk in with. Depending on what you need, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and Relational-Cultural techniques.
