Biography
I'm a therapist who focuses on talk therapy, with 25 years of experience walking alongside people through the kinds of life challenges that don't fit neatly into a single label. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating strain in their relationships, tension or conflict at home, the disorientation that comes with grief, or the ordinary hard questions of parenting. Often the people I see aren't looking to be fixed so much as understood, and that distinction matters to me.
My work starts from a simple commitment: to treat everyone I meet with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I don't arrive with a script. Early on, most of our time goes toward getting the shape of what you're actually dealing with, and I'll ask questions and listen closely before we settle on any direction. From there, I build a plan around your specific circumstances rather than a generic template, and I check in with you about what feels useful and what doesn't. I'd rather adjust as we go than push an approach that isn't fitting your life.
I trained at Howard University School of Social Work and did my clinical internship at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and the DC Rape Crisis Center, and that grounding in listening to hard stories has stayed with me throughout my career.
If that sounds like the kind of support you've been considering, I'd be happy to talk.
