Biography
My style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, including our country's service men and women. My approach combines an eclectic style of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, and schema therapy techniques. I will tailor sessions to meet your unique and specific needs. Humor and deep insights are not incongruent to my practice or off limits! I am invested in a healthcare experience that addresses you wholistically. If you have daily hassles, life transitions, or chronic/acute health conditions that are becoming overwhelming, you are in the right place. I am interested in functional therapy that permits you to move forward. Where relevant, I can gently integrate psychospiritual issues regardless of religious background.
I am dually licensed as both a Family Therapist and Genetic Counselor with a combined 14 years of professional work experience.
My process begins with your first step to get help. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and I will support and empower that desire. I work collaboratively with your healthcare team and address your questions and needs directly. I can work on the specific challenge or need you may have and brainstorm your best starting place. While I cannot live your life or make your decisions, I can be responsive to your needs and provide the anticipatory guidance that can transform your internal dialogue or open the door that mends family divisions.
