Biography
Lucia Olson, LMFT, has worked in community mental health, private practice, a medical clinic, and group practice settings. She earned an MA in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University, a PhD in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a BA in English Literature from Smith College.
Lucia provides a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach, helping clients set meaningful goals and navigate life transitions, grief, divorce, parenting changes, new mental or chronic physical health diagnoses, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, and neurodivergence. She integrates DBT, ACT, and narrative therapy to help clients build coping skills, gain confidence, and rewrite unhelpful life narratives.
Lucia begins by gaining a thorough understanding of each client's history, concerns, and goals. Initial sessions may involve more questions while providing a calm, supportive space where clients guide the focus of therapy. She partners with clients throughout treatment to create individualized goals and support lasting growth.
