Biography
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 16 years in mental health and about 8 years providing psychotherapy. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, and community services for youth and adults. I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Phoenix and a master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I am certified in CBT.
I create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where patients feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe therapy should be individualized and collaborative. I use compassion and encouragement while helping patients explore difficult thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences and supporting them in making meaningful changes.
I begin by learning about your history, current concerns, stressors, strengths, and goals. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan based on your needs. I draw from CBT, DBT, Exposure Therapy, person-centered, trauma-focused, and solution-focused approaches, and regularly evaluate progress and adjust treatment as needed.
