I received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Orlando, Florida, and established myself as a therapist working in community mental health in the Lakeland, Florida area. I spent several years working at Tri-County Human Services providing co-occurring outpatient substance abuse therapy. Later, I shifted to providing services to children through Tri-County's B-Net program and Children's Home Society. I went on to become the Clinical Supervisor at the Children's Home Society, providing care to children and adolescents impacted by trauma and the child welfare system. Before joining Talkiatry, I also served as the clinical supervisor and therapist at The Mary Welsh Foundation, providing care to individuals of all ages and specializing in trauma and family issues.

Throughout my years of experience as a therapist, I have worked with individuals dealing with a variety of mental health issues. I have worked with people of all ages and have experience working with families and couples. I have had additional training to serve individuals dealing with addictions and with processing trauma, and I have extensive experience working with individuals dealing with mood disorders and anxiety, as well as relationship and parenting issues.

Over the past 30 years, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of therapy is the connection and comfort you feel with the person with whom you choose to share your personal struggles. I like to listen to what patients are telling me about what is important to them and what they would like to address in therapy. We can then start to set goals together and work towards the outcomes they want. We always go at a pace that is comfortable to the client.

For 19 years I worked as a Discharge Planner in a hospital while attending Metropolitan Institute for Mental Health to study in the Adult Psychoanalytic Division. In 2012, I switched gears and began working as a Behavioral Health Care Manager, while also starting my own private practice, called "Live the Life you Want," because I strongly believe that all individuals should live their own lives the way they want to and desire.
