Biography
I'm a therapist, and I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of backgrounds. My training is in Couple and Marriage and Family Therapy, and much of what I do is systemic and relational, which just means I pay attention to the people and patterns around you, not only what's happening inside you. Over the years I've practiced in outpatient community mental health, K-12 school settings, substance use treatment, and private practice, so I've sat with a lot of different kinds of struggles.
I think of therapy as a partnership. We work together to make sense of what you're going through, what feels hard right now, and what you'd genuinely like to change. My approach is trauma-informed and culturally responsive, and I try to honor your identity, background, and lived experience without asking you to perform or explain yourself in ways that feel like pressure. In a first session, I mostly want to understand what's happening for you and what you're hoping for, and from there we build a realistic plan around your priorities.
As we go, I'll help you notice patterns, put some coping tools to use, and adjust the work when something isn't fitting. I'd rather revise the plan than pretend it's working.
Curious whether the two of us would be a good match? That's exactly what a first conversation is for.
