Biography
I'm a therapist who has spent about ten years working with kids, teens, and young adults, mostly ages 6 through 25, in schools and residential settings. A lot of that time has been with young people wrestling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and body image, along with those adjusting to hard transitions or working through trauma. I earned both my Bachelor's in Psychology and my Master's in Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and I've stayed close to that same age range ever since.
Trust is where the real work starts for me, so the first session is mostly about getting to know your background, what you need, and where you want to go. I want to make sure we're a good fit before we go anywhere else. After that, you set the pace. I follow your lead as we explore what's on your mind, offering validation, some honest insight, and support so you can make decisions that actually line up with your values. My approach pulls from CBT, DBT, person-centered and solution-focused work, and I often bring in creative tools like music and art, because sometimes healing needs more than words.
If you're a young person, or a parent looking for someone for your child, the first step is simply a conversation. We'll figure out the rest together, one session at a time.
