Biography
I'm a therapist who has spent years working across outpatient and in-home family settings, and much of that work has moved to telehealth. I see adults and older adults who are contending with trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, the emotional weight of chronic illness, or family conflict that has worn down the people involved. Before this, I taught social work, and that instinct toward mentorship and growth still shapes how I sit with people: I want you to leave with something you can actually use.
My style is compassionate but direct. I'll support you, and I'll also offer a gentle challenge when I think it will move things forward. I start by understanding your story, your strengths, and what you're hoping to change, then we build a treatment plan around your goals rather than a generic one. Sessions tend to have a rhythm: we check in, work on a concrete skill, and look at how things have actually gone since we last spoke. I draw on CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy, always through a strengths-based, culturally aware lens, and I adjust the goals as your life shifts.
What matters most to me is open, honest communication, so you feel understood rather than managed. If you're ready to work on something and want a partner who will be both steady and straight with you, the first step is simply a conversation, and we'll figure out the path together from there.
