Biography
I earned a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College and worked as a high school special education teacher before transitioning to healthcare, driven by my interest in mental health. I completed my BSN and MSN at Columbia University School of Nursing. I am bilingual in Spanish and English and have nine years of experience providing psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive therapy in outpatient, community, home, shelter, and telehealth settings. I have also mentored NP residents and DNP students.
I see each person as an individual, considering biological, psychological, interpersonal, and life circumstances—not just symptoms. I value your history, strengths, resilience, priorities, and definition of a good outcome. I provide warm, nonjudgmental, trauma-informed care and explain my clinical reasoning so you can be an active partner in treatment.
I begin by listening closely to your history, concerns, and goals. Together, we create an individualized plan that may combine medication management, therapeutic strategies, lifestyle changes, and evidence-based tools. I consider both effectiveness and side effects, explain what to expect, and regularly revisit the plan as your needs and circumstances evolve.
