Biography
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 30 years of nursing and healthcare experience, including extensive behavioral health and psychiatric care. My background spans inpatient and outpatient settings, and I have cared for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. My education in advanced psychiatric nursing and clinical psychology gives me a broad perspective on the biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that affect mental health.
I believe effective psychiatric care begins with listening to the person, not simply treating a diagnosis. I provide thorough, compassionate, straightforward care and value collaboration, education, and open communication. I tailor treatment to your history, needs, previous treatment experiences, and goals, while helping you understand the benefits, risks, and alternatives of your options.
I begin with a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms, history, medications, medical and psychosocial factors, and goals. Together, we develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy principles, behavioral strategies, education, and lifestyle interventions. I monitor progress closely and adjust treatment as your needs evolve.
