Biography
Ana Sherwood is a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts, who has experience working with various populations in a multitude of settings within the mental health field. Ana has worked directly with clients of diverse backgrounds who experience a variety of mental health challenges. She attended Skidmore College and completed her undergraduate education earning a BSW, and obtained her master's degree from Smith College School for Social Work. Ana has experience practicing with children and adolescents within K-12 school systems, with adults utilizing outpatient centers and engaging in group therapy for drug and alcohol use, working within hospice settings, as well as seeing clients across the lifespan in private group practice. The guiding philosophy that Ana utilizes as a psychotherapist is the belief that there is great power in turning inward with support and guidance from a therapist. She feels that when an individual is able to connect fully with their authentic selves, and bring healing to wounds that have impeded their ability to do so, one is able to feel truly alive. Ana utilizes a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to her work and meets each client with openness and compassion. Educated and trained as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Ana practices with an eclectic approach tailored to meet the needs of each individual.
