Biography

I earned a Master’s in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin and South Carolina and have experience treating mild to severe mental health concerns and substance use in outpatient settings. I am also a Certified Grief Support Specialist. My clinical interests include loss, aging, trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression, and OCD. I tailor treatment to each client using approaches such as EMDR, ABT, CBT, ACT, and Brainspotting.

I bring kindness, enthusiasm, commitment, transparency, and accountability to my work. I offer a sincere, nonjudgmental space where you can explore personal struggles at your own pace. As a trauma-informed clinician, I prioritize safety and comfort while encouraging self-awareness and providing psychoeducation to help you better understand yourself and your symptoms.

I begin with a thorough assessment to understand your history, background, and current concerns. We then collaborate to identify your goals and any barriers to progress. I discuss treatment options so you can make an informed choice about what fits you best. We routinely revisit goals and adjust treatment as needed.

I bring a thoughtful, creative, and motivating presence to my work, while honoring personal differences and diversity. I value the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change and personal growth.

My style blends behavioral and psychodynamic theories, allowing me to address present-day behaviors while also exploring deeper emotional and psychological patterns. I create a warm, safe, and respectful environment where clients feel understood and supported. My approach is empathetic and versatile, fostering both immediate progress and long-term self-awareness.

I work collaboratively with clients to clarify their needs, values, and goals. Together, we identify the most effective path forward and adjust goals as needed over time. Over the past 30 years, my experience has taught me that the most important aspect of therapy is the connection and comfort you feel with the person with whom you choose to share your personal struggles. I like to listen to what patients are telling me about what is important to them and what they would like to address in therapy. We can then start to set goals together and work towards the outcomes they want. We always go at a pace that is comfortable to the client.
