Biography
I've spent years as a therapist treating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, the kind of struggles that quietly interfere with getting through an ordinary day. Over the past decade I've worked in a lot of different settings, from the local mental health authority to private practice, and that range has taught me to adjust my approach to the actual person in front of me rather than the diagnosis on paper.
A lot of what I do comes down to skill-building: learning to regulate emotions, setting boundaries that hold, and communicating in a way that gets heard. I draw on an eclectic blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused work, and mindfulness, and which tools I reach for depends on what you're dealing with and what actually fits your life. Early sessions tend to be practical. I want to understand where you are right now, what's working, what isn't, and then we start putting concrete strategies to the test together. My aim is to build your resiliency and autonomy so you're steering your own life, not leaning on me indefinitely.
I stay honest and I keep the pace realistic, because change that lasts usually isn't fast. If daily life has started to feel harder than it should, and you're ready to put some real skills to work, reach out and let's see what we can do together.
