Biography
I've spent years as a therapist, with over a decade in the mental health field and fifteen years working directly with children and adolescents, and much of that time has been spent alongside people navigating trauma and the aftermath of crisis. I see adults and kids as young as five, and I work in both English and Spanish. As a native South Texan and a second generation Mexican-American, I bring that background into the room with me, and I find it often shapes how comfortable people feel opening up.
My approach draws on cognitive behavioral tools inside a humanistic, client-centered frame, which really just means the work is grounded in self-acceptance and self-awareness rather than a checklist. Most of my career was spent in community health, where trauma-informed care wasn't a phrase on a website but the daily reality, and that experience taught me to move at a pace that honors what someone can hold. Expect a first visit that's less about diagnosis and more about understanding your story and what brought you here. I stay honest, and I take client advocacy seriously; you'll always know where things stand.
Whether you're an adult carrying old wounds or a parent looking for support for a young child, bring what's troubling you to a first visit and we'll begin sorting through it together, one step at a time.
