Biography
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 12 years of experience in mental health, providing therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. I have helped individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, and relationship and family concerns.
My approach is person-centered, supportive, and collaborative, and I tailor therapy to each client's needs. I believe in understanding each person as a whole, including their experiences, relationships, and surroundings. I prioritize open, honest communication and create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can express themselves. I help clients gain insight so they can create positive changes, drawing from an eclectic mix of approaches with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I begin by building a therapeutic partnership based on trust and mutual respect while understanding each client's concerns. Together, we establish goals based on what the client hopes to achieve. I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize and build on their strengths while working through challenges. I monitor progress and collaborate to adjust goals and strategies as needs evolve.
