When appropriate, I will refer patients for additional psychotherapy and will work to collaborate with therapists to help patients achieve the best outcomes. I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/VCU in Richmond, Virginia. I then traveled to Greenville, South Carolina, where I completed a General Psychiatry residency at Greenville Health System/PRISMA Health, and then returned to Virginia to complete a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at The Virginia Treatment Center for Children/VCU Health System. I completed my undergraduate training at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where I studied psychology and elementary education. Prior to entering medical school, I was a licensed elementary school teacher in Virginia, where I served children of various learning styles and needs.

I continue to have an interest in learning disabilities, other neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, as well as many other areas of psychiatry.

I completed my medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, and my General Psychiatry Residency at Georgetown University, where I served as Chief Resident. After residency, I entered private practice in McLean, VA.

My practice centers around treating the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit. I believe the judicious use of psychiatric medications, coupled with psychotherapy and alternative treatments such as meditation and yoga, can bring about transformative changes in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions and life issues. In addition to general adult psychiatry, I received extensive training in one of the nation's largest women's mood disorder programs at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and enjoy treating peripartum and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I am also well trained in addiction medicine and received additional training in buprenorphine use for opioid addiction.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist who has been in practice for over 10 years. I graduated with Honors in Psychology from The University of Florida, received my medical degree from The University of South Alabama School of Medicine, completed a clinical postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed my Psychiatry residency training at The University of North Carolina. I am currently obtaining my MBA. After residency, I worked as a psychiatric hospitalist at Trident Medical Center in Charleston and have also worked in private practice. Most recently I served as Chief Medical Officer for an 80-bed psychiatric hospital, Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital in Stuart, FL. I have worked in inpatient units, private practice, and community mental health, as well as served as Chief Medical Officer of a large psychiatric hospital. In 2018 I was awarded the Charleston Choice Award for Best Psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina. I currently reside in South Florida.
