Beverly Bryant, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, developmental disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and family relational problems for both children and adults. I believe that "knowledge is power" and that the more a person can understand about how the brain is affected by various mental health conditions, the more treatment makes sense. Working with survivors of trauma has always been an important part of my practice.

I received my medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, completed my adult training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and completed my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center/Riverview Hospital for Children Program. I am board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and have over 32 years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist.

A native Texan, I returned to Tyler, TX in 2020 to accept the position of Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, where I also established an accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. Prior to that, I served as the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where I was also the Program Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. I also served as the program director of the Eating Disorders and Trauma Recovery program at Menninger Clinic in Topeka.

I currently serve as the co-chair of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry's Committee on Child Maltreatment and Violence and as a representative for the National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse.

I create a welcoming and supportive environment where patients feel heard and understood. I collaborate with patients to set achievable treatment goals, drawing on extensive experience in treating a variety of mental illnesses, including post-traumatic stress disorder, to ensure the best outcomes. I begin by thoroughly reviewing a patient's history to understand their background and concerns, helping to establish meaningful treatment goals. At follow-up appointments, I review progress, address any new issues, and adjust care plans collaboratively to support long-term mental health and well-being.

I earned my medical degree from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and completed my residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I served as a military psychiatrist for eight years, including deployment to Iraq, and was honorably discharged as a Major. I have experience in both outpatient and inpatient care, with a strong focus on compassionate, patient-centered treatment.

Alessandra Buonopane, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

I practice a holistic approach, combining psychiatric medications with elements of psychotherapy and mindfulness. I offer individualized and comprehensive treatment plans that address the whole person, including lifestyle and social engagement, because the latest research findings show that both play an important role in mental and physical health. Education on mental illness and recommendations on diet and exercise are always discussed with my patients according to each individual's needs. I spend time listening to patients and make plans based on clinical evidence without an authoritative approach, taking into consideration the patient's level of comfort and views because, in my experience, the best outcomes are always reached when patients fully understand and agree with the management of their conditions. I have extensive experience in psychopharmacology and offer state-of-the-art medication management with compassion and empathy, with a focus on mood disorders and anxiety.

I am Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Anthony Capozzi, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

My approach is to get to know my patients well in order to provide more comprehensive care. I prefer Cognitive Behavioral therapy or Rational Emotive therapy, which I feel is the most time effective and enduring therapy to help patients' needs. I enjoy working with patients who have anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD, and I am particularly interested in treatment-resistant Depression and Anxiety Disorders. Patients working with me know that I realize they have been suffering with their symptoms for some time, or they would not be seeking help, and I will work with each patient in collaboration to help receive the proper care. The typical process is to first spend time gathering a history of the symptoms, then include significant medical history which may be primary or secondary contributing factors, and also examine the psychosocial profile and how that may contribute to the initiation of symptoms and prevention of improvement. It is essential to form a differential diagnosis and continue to look at any ongoing issues as well as co-morbidities. I believe it is most important to discuss possible treatment modalities and take into consideration the patient's participation in ongoing care, staying up to date on the latest modalities and using a combination of medication, nutritional supplements, and behavioral therapies that can foster lasting improvement. It is very gratifying watching patients blossom and overcome their psychiatric disorder and then function at their best in work, leisure pursuits, and relationships.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Association of Psychiatric Medicine. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I received my MD from New York University after completing a 5th pathway at Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens, New York. I began my experience seeing patients with treatment refractory major psychiatric illnesses at Rockland Psychiatric Center in Rockland County, New York, where I also served on the psychopharmacology committee. I then practiced outpatient psychiatry at Rockland County Community Mental Health and Westchester County Mental Health for over 20 years, in addition to maintaining a private practice, and held the position of Associate Director of the division in Westchester County for over 18 years. That work exposed me to all levels of psychiatric care, including patients in the community, patients with limited income, and dual diagnoses including substance abuse. I also have extensive experience working with patients with developmental disabilities, as this is an underserved need.

I then went on to work in Florida for Florida Health Care Plans, an HMO, and in private practice for the past 13 years. I worked at the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach, helped establish the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Port Orange, Florida as part of a multidisciplinary practice, and established Advanced TMS in Port Orange, Florida. I subsequently practiced Interventional Psychiatry with Greenbrook TMS in the greater Orlando area. I am certified in TMS for brain mapping with Neurostar and Cloud TMS and have experience in the use of intranasal ketamine for treatment-resistant depression. I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression and other mood concerns, bipolar spectrum illnesses, OCD, PTSD, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. Along with discussing physical health concerns, diet, exercise, personal connection, and stress management, I incorporate various therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness, into my work. In some instances, I may recommend more intensive psychotherapy with a collaborating therapist in order to help facilitate the best care possible.

I received my medical degree from Rush Medical College and also hold a graduate degree in epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Following medical school, I completed my residency in psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. During my final year of residency, I served as chief resident at Grady Memorial Hospital. I value therapeutic partnership, working with patients to balance symptom relief with meaningful self-exploration. I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach, creating a warm and nonjudgmental environment. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and encourage honest exploration of symptoms and underlying patterns. I value authenticity, curiosity, and respect for each patient's unique experiences. While symptom relief is important, my goal is to foster self-understanding and long-term growth. My expertise spans medication management, supportive therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, and I work best with patients open to collaboration and motivated for change, whether through medication management, therapy, or both.

I begin with a consultation phase to ensure a good fit, listening carefully to understand each patient's challenges and goals. Together, my patients and I build a working alliance by clarifying difficulties, identifying realistic changes, and exploring deeper patterns. When appropriate, I prescribe medication thoughtfully, aiming to support therapy rather than replace it. Each session integrates supportive and psychodynamic elements, combining medication review with therapeutic dialogue. Treatment plans are regularly revisited, allowing flexibility and growth, with the ultimate aim of empowering patients toward lasting change.

I take a holistic view of mental health, considering biological, psychological, and social factors. My clinical interests include trauma, trauma-informed care, and integrating psychotherapy principles with medication management. My clinical work includes treating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders.

I am a medical doctor with experience working across outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health settings. I have extensive experience caring for underserved and diverse populations and was a recipient of the SAMHSA Minority Fellowship Program Grant. My fellowship training included a focus on Seeking Safety, an evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment model.

I begin care with a thorough assessment of psychiatric history, current concerns, and treatment goals, and I prioritize understanding how past experiences and trauma may influence present symptoms. Treatment plans are individualized and evidence-based, integrating medication management with therapeutic principles and psychoeducation. I collaborate with therapists and other providers as needed and regularly review progress, adjusting treatment based on patient feedback.

Daniel Ebert, MD

Staff Psychiatrist

I strive to create a respectful environment where patients feel heard as they build a strong therapeutic alliance. I value long-term collaboration to achieve meaningful treatment goals and improve quality of life. With clinical experience guiding my approach, I offer reasonable therapeutic optimism while addressing challenging symptoms and issues. I begin with a comprehensive clinical assessment to understand each patient's symptoms, life story, behavior, and personality, and I develop a collaborative treatment plan, revisiting it over time. Follow-up appointments integrate medication management, if prescribed, and psychotherapy tailored to the individual, using a combination of standard therapeutic approaches aligned with the shared plan.

I earned my medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. I have served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for over 15 years. I am board certified in psychiatry by the American College of Psychiatry and Neurology. I have extensive experience treating mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings, including student mental health, community psychiatry, and academic outpatient practices.

I take a collaborative and compassionate approach to both medication management and psychotherapy. I enjoy utilizing various forms of psychotherapy to empower individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives, and I particularly enjoy incorporating elements of supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies in all visits. I practice thoughtful and evidence-based medication management. I enjoy working with students and adults with anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and mood disorders, and I also have a special interest in women's mental health.

I completed my undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's in neuroscience, and I later attended medical school at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. My interest in neuroscience, combined with a passion for the humanistic side of medicine, led me to pursue a psychiatry residency at NYU, where I gained experience working with a diverse patient population. After completing residency in 2018, I chose to pursue private practice to allow more time with patients and to build on my interest in psychotherapy. I spent over 6 years in solo and group private practice in Los Angeles. I am committed to working with insurance-based practices, as I am passionate about providing affordable access to quality healthcare.
