Biography
Lisa Gorman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who has experience working with emerging adults and adults struggling with various life stressors and mental conditions. Lisa has extensive knowledge and skillsets targeting those who are suffering from a serious mental illness such as anxiety, depression, and more. Lisa received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Iona University in New Rochelle, NY; she also completed pre- and post-master's clinical hours at St. Vincent's Psychiatric Hospital in Westchester, NY. Lisa has been focusing on mood disorders and transitional life periods and strives to create a safe, comfortable space for individuals to process emotional hardships, while providing empathy, support, and understanding. Lisa utilizes a person-centered and holistic approach, emphasizing the treatment of the whole person, taking into account emotional, behavioral and social factors, rather than treating just the symptoms of an illness. Depending on the individual's needs, Lisa will determine which modality of treatment will be best suited for your success in therapy.
