Biography
Sarah Carter is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been a dedicated clinical professional with more than 25 years of experience. She received her BS in Social Work from California State University and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. She has been licensed in the state of Georgia for the past 6 years and in the state of California for the past year. Sarah has certifications from the National Board for Certified Counselors. Her extensive background includes roles in social services, therapeutic, mental, and behavioral health, addictive disease, and developmentally delayed. She has worked in various settings, including inpatient psychiatric facilities, school districts, military base facilities, insurance agencies, and government court programs. Sarah has had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, trauma and abuse, grief and loss. She utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Approach, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Her niche lies in addressing trauma and substance abuse issues. As a therapist, Sarah strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and interactive environment where individuals can tackle different subjects, deep-seated trauma, or simply have a listening ear when they need to express their thoughts and feelings. Sarah strongly believes healing is a collaborative effort that requires honest caring without judgment.
