I work with patients to meet the goals that matter to them. I believe that feeling heard and being understood are key factors in a successful treatment relationship. I have worked extensively with patients dealing with trauma from childhood abuse, assaults, combat, and accidents. I also have a lot of experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and personality disorders.

I have been working in telehealth since 2018. After completing my training, I worked in private practice and in various roles for the Department of Veterans Affairs. I most enjoy working in the clinic because of the long-term follow-up.

I enjoy my work and include psychotherapy in my appointments. I offer medication options to treat symptoms but also work with patients to examine behaviors and defenses that may be contributing to their problems. For patients who would benefit from more extensive psychotherapy, I may refer them to a therapist and work collaboratively with that therapist. I start off with a thorough evaluation to make a diagnosis, then work with patients to determine their treatment goals and develop a treatment plan to meet those goals.

I am passionate about integrative medicine, which combines evidence-based alternative therapies with conventional treatments to optimize outcomes. My approach focuses on promoting overall wellness, keeping both the body and mind in harmony. During the diagnostic evaluation, I will review your medical history and past treatments to develop a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan that prioritizes your overall wellness. In addition to medication management, I incorporate supportive, cognitive, or psychodynamic psychotherapy during follow-up visits, as time allows. When appropriate, I may also recommend referrals to specialized psychotherapists to address your individual needs as part of a holistic treatment approach.

I am double board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I earned my medical degree from Cairo University, where I also completed my neurology residency at Cairo University Hospitals. I believe in a holistic, integrative approach to mental health. My philosophy centers on identifying the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms. I view mental health care as a partnership, where the mind, body, and spirit work together to achieve wellness, and I am committed to fostering a safe, confidential therapeutic alliance. I embrace integrative psychiatry, which combines the best of conventional Western medicine with complementary approaches. This involves a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment tailored to each individual, incorporating psychopharmacology alongside lifestyle adjustments in diet, movement, and breathwork. I collaborate with therapists and other professionals to create a well-rounded treatment plan that honors each patient's unique journey.

I grew up in an immigrant family surrounded by aspiring doctors, and my passion for understanding the human mind and behavior blossomed early. This curiosity led me to pursue extensive medical training abroad, beginning at Kasturba Medical College in Southern India, followed by clerkships at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. I completed my adult psychiatry residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville and specialized further with a child/adolescent fellowship at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

I am a board-eligible psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of adults. I seek to provide a safe, non-judgmental, gender affirming space for patients as they strive to lead a happier, more contented life. I employ a holistic, multimodal treatment approach, and aiming to treat the whole person, I stress the importance of nutrition, exercise, and sleep. I believe an informed patient actively engaged in decision making surrounding treatment has the best chance of effecting lasting change. Believing in the synergistic effect of talk therapy and medication, I incorporate one or more talk therapy techniques, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapies, into most sessions. I often recommend formal participation in some form of talk therapy and am happy to collaborate with other providers.

I have experience treating patients with various forms of depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders. After a pediatrics residency, I worked for 13 years as a pediatric ER physician. My interest in psychiatry was piqued during this time as I witnessed the emergence of a child and adolescent mental health crisis. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including as an outpatient psychiatrist at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) and as a correctional psychiatrist at the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in Reno, NV. I view each patient and their caregiver's circumstance as unique. I take a holistic and collaborative approach to help patients understand their options. While the focus may be on psychoeducation and medication management with supportive and psychodynamic therapeutic interventions, there may be a need for additional therapy, and I may ask that a therapist be added to the treatment team. I work towards establishing a meaningful, trusting relationship.

I am double board certified in General Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have worked in various settings with culturally diverse populations, with a primary focus on caring for children in outpatient programs. I have spent over ten years as an administrative leader, having chaired and co-chaired committees overseeing the practice of fellow psychiatrists and served as Discipline Chief. I have also been teaching and supervising Nurse Practitioner students and Physician Assistant students. I am experienced with a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses and therapeutic modalities.

My practice focuses on medication management, and I typically offer medication management combined with supportive therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in 30-minute follow-up visits. If I feel you would benefit from working with a dedicated talk therapist, I may encourage you to pursue this or refer you in order to achieve the best outcome. My approach is always to meet the patient where they are and educate and enable patients to make good choices about treatment that are in line with their personal preferences and values.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist and have been practicing in outpatient psychiatry for nearly 7 years. I am a graduate of Michigan State College of Human Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency at Pine Rest/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, MI. I have previously worked as an outpatient psychiatrist and in tele-psychiatry. I have a lot of experience treating patients with a broad array of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. I also treat combined mental health diagnoses such as ADHD plus another diagnosis. I also have a lot of experience working with patients who identify as LGBTQI+.

My practice focuses on making progress towards therapeutic goals by utilizing a specifically tailored combination of medication management and psychotherapy depending on any given individual's needs. I understand how difficult it can be to begin seeing a new psychiatrist, and I do my best to create a safe, welcoming environment that patients can feel comfortable in.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist based in Las Vegas, NV. Originally a Mississippi native, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi, then completed medical school and post-graduate residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

How does compensation work?

Is there a cost to my health system?

Clinicians receive a base salary plus monthly productivity incentives. This structure provides stable income with the ability to increase earnings based on caseload and scheduling preferences. For early-career psychiatrists, it offers a predictable start; for experienced clinicians, it provides scalability with transparency around expectations.

Can I work anywhere?

Is there a cost to my health system?
