I earned my medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed Psychiatry Residency and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. I have practiced in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings and have subspecialty training in Addiction Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. My presence at Talkiatry brings my career full circle and back to my greatest joy as a psychiatrist: working directly with patients one-on-one to help them integrate the complexity of their feelings, beliefs, and personal reality in the context of an increasingly complicated world around them. This breadth and depth of clinical and life experience have helped me transcend cultural biases and institutional conventions and to more clearly see each patient as a uniquely complex and lovable individual.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, my medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine, and completed psychiatry residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine. I am ABPN certified in Psychiatry and completed a rigorous 3-year psychotherapy scholars track, gaining experience across multiple therapeutic modalities. Before medical school, I worked as a project manager for a large electronic health corporation.

I began my career as a mental health technician in a geriatric residential program and later pursued additional education in nursing, earning an Associate Degree in Nursing from Quincy College, a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from South University, and a Master's in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. Over the years, I have held diverse roles in adult and children's case management, residential and intensive outpatient programs, inpatient psychiatric care, and crisis stabilization. I have provided care in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as through hospital consult services across the country.

I also served as an adjunct professor, teaching psychology and sociology courses for over a decade in high schools, colleges, and correctional facilities. My extensive background includes treating addictions, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, self-harm, and eating disorders. I have facilitated Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and inpatient group therapy for co-occurring disorders.
